Thanks Blue, you've read my mind because for me it was OHMSS that really stood out among the bunch as my priority, and TSWLM as my least. But if I plan to watch all 5, I wonder if I can jimmy the exit doors? ?:)
Thanks Supes. When you find out for certain drop me a PM or post it here. If I can make a couple of shows I might try to attend (crazy work schedule). Only problem is, i wonder if BART or MUNI go any where near the Castro theater. I'm not a fan of driving in "The City."
I was just thinking the same thing, since I don't know of any convenient parking garage in the area. I'll look for additional details of the screenings and other festivities as they materialize and will (they're taking too long!) give an update.
I haven't ridden BART in years, but I'm pretty sure you could just stay on the Colma line and get off at the last Market Street stop, which I think is UN Plaza. There may be another one that I'm forgetting. It's a little bit of a walk from there to the Castro District -- and there probably is a bus -- but this time of year SF is beautiful. I forget which street the theater is on.
That's a great lineup of films. I wish more American movie houses did film festivals like that. I'd consider going myself, but I have to be in Chicago for my brother's wedding that weekend.

Parking around the Castro district is difficult at best, there are two small parking lots and street parking available, please add extra travel time if coming by car for a prompt arrival at the theatre.
Residents is San Francisco proper are best served by taking public transportation to avoid unnecessary stress on your evenings entertainment.
P.S., for the Indy Fans in the SF Bay Area, they're showing the Indy trilogy on May 6!!!
You're welcome! The good news is that the movies are paired as double-bills, for the price of one. Even though, with the time and money to watch, esp. on Memorial Day weekend (though the wife gave me permission), I'd be lucky with more than one double bill, and like you I'm prioritizing OHMSS.
You're welcome, Mr. Martini, I hope you make it! I visited the Haight yesterday afternoon and scoped out the parking situation at the Castro, which is dismal as I feared. I haven't ridden the Muni in 30 years, but I have a feeling that I'll reaquaint with it to watch these movies. Then again, parking on the streets should ease the further you get, let's say a 6 block radius, plus the meters stop at 6 p.m.
But, yeah.., definitely do public transporation that day! Parking in the Castro is horrendous normally, let alone over a holiday! PLUS they have a gay pride parade some time that weekend, they do Carnaval in the Mission District, and tons of people will spill into the Castro from it, so it's gonna be a zoo down there. There's a Muni stop not far from the theater though. Have fun!

Gay pride weekend is a month away (June 27) but Carnaval is, in fact, Memorial Day weekend.
The Muni station is directly opposite the Castro Theatre.
Yeah I'm aware of that...as I said. They do a parade during Carnaval as well...which is what I meant.
I just came back from today's show, the double bill for TB and OHMSS! My family and I made a day trip out of it; my wife brought our 4 year old girl to see Shrek the III at the new Westfield Mall, while I took our 12 year old son with me. Since the theater is some distance down Market St, we took the "F Line" street car, which I hadn't ridden in 30 years (they began using the old ones again), which entertained even my son.
As the weekend came nearer, I knew that I wouldn't be able to watch all 6 movies over 3 days, so I picked the day having OHMSS, which at least had 1 Connery film, which I wish could have been FRWL (shown before today) or YOLT. Home viewing IMO really can't compare with the theater, and wow, it was really exciting to see Connery on the big screen. I've seen things that I've never noticed before, like the really visible breasts of the first underwater girl in the TB title sequence ;%, the wires holding up the Vulcan bomber when it ditched into the sea and a dog urinating during the Junkanoo parade! You really get to see the smallest freckles on the actors' faces, arms, etc., and Domino not only had one mole, but two on her outer, left thigh. Most of all, the Bond girls took on a seemingly new dimension because they looked more tangible, up close in vivid detail, making them delicious to watch all over again...even Ruby Bartlet!
It was also fun to have the audience interaction and it was interesting which one liners and innuendos got people going, considering how one tends to take these for granted after having watched each Bond movie a couple dozen times; then you realize that there are probably some first time viewers, or many who haven't watched these movies in a long time, sitting there with you. People reacted with ooh's when Bond slapped Tracy and later when Draco knocked her out, and they laughed when Draco gave his, "she needs a man to dominate her" line
There was a period of about 5 to 10 minutes when the audio and video were out of sync, with the audio being 10 seconds advanced, between the time Bond was conked out by Irma Bunt, to before he geared up for his ski escape, and I almost forgot, during the gunbarrel! X-( People just laughed and no one complained though I wanted to yell really bad.
To answer your question, Mr. Martini, people were spread out to where no one had a person sitting directly in front of them, though it was still a substantial crowd. At the mezzanine level, there was one table selling framed Bond merchandise, around 4 Sideshow figures, a couple of diecasts and Bond posters in postcard format. A host of a local late night B-movie channel (Mr. Lobo of KTEH's Insomia Theater) would do a short "act" before each movie. They also screened a short before each movie. If anyone was there for the first 2 movies, my son, the "Ado" of my member name, was asked to go up on stage with Mr. Lobo with 2 other kids; he's the one wearing the Green Lantern t-shirt. Mr. Lobo asked the kids, "What-are-you-doing-here?!? Don't you realize there's a lot of sex and violence in these movies!?! Then he asked my son, "Guessing you're here with your dad; is it a father and son thing? "Maybe we'll see a boob together...""
