That's really crow looking though I guess we'll have to wait to see what the performance is like
At this point I'm not getting that Joker-vibe myself from that photo. He looks like he's in a Crow sequel to me but the acting just may make up for this.
Here's camera footage of them filming TDK on Wacker Drive. I do think that that is Ledger in these clips and it sort of substantiates H.B.'s Joker pic. Click on the 3 pics at bottom.

That's really great. I went to Chicago for the first time in my life a few weeks ago for my brother's wedding and stayed at a hotel by Wacker and Michigan Avenue. There was this kind of underground area, although I seem to recall it was under Michigan Ave. Is that where this was filmed?

Could have been, there is Upper Wacker which runs at street level and Lower Wacker which runs underneath the city. Lower Wacker is a popular street to get from one side of the downtown area to the other because you don't have cross streets, etc. Lower Wacker does run to Michigan Ave so it could have been what you saw.

According to SUPERHEROHYPE.com, a bootleg of the teaser trailer seems to have been leaked on YouTube today. Don't know if it's legit and it's in poor quality so I hope that you can see it:

The new teaser trailer for Warner Bros.' The Dark Knight will play in select theaters with The Simpsons Movie on Friday, but it looks like the clip has already leaked onto YouTube. It's a very low-quality version of the trailer, so hopefully the studio will put it online in High Definition QuickTime soon.
Ooh lovely, thank you: obviously its real, but it is is a bit skimpy on the meat, there- no visuals at all. I hope when they release it there's something else in there!
Yeah. . .impossible to see anything more than the Batman logo,
I don't think there is anything more, is there? Hopefully there's something in the dark bits. And that quick glimpse of Joker you get as the logo bursts will be good to see in clear-o-vision.

At first I thought that my mind was fabricating what I wanted to see but I guess I'm not the only one who saw that. It did look like a quick glimpse of The Joker in the explosion.
Ledger indeed sounds good and twisted. Can't wait to see a clearer version. B-)

Looks like it's been pulled due to, according to the link, "copyright issues".

UPDATE: New Dark Knight Viral Site?
Source: EmpireofDarkness, Nate Buchman, eViL_kEv2 July 27, 2007
UPDATE: WhySoSerious.com has updated with more instructions on what you should do today if you want to participate and are at Comic-Con in San Diego.
Fans have pointed us to WhySoSerious.com, which appears to be yet another viral site for The Dark Knight. Remember IBelieveinHarveyDent.com and IBelieveinHarveyDentToo.com? At the new site, the Joker seems to be recruiting people for his gang. But what's very interesting is that the page includes coordinates in San Diego and that the clock is counting down to approximately when the Warner Bros. panel takes place at Comic-Con. Hmmm...
The Batman crew has been filming on La Salle street the last two weekends. LaSalle street is the center of the financial district in downtown Chicago and ends at The Board of Trade (Options Trading) building. In the last Batman movie the Board of Trade building was the Water Dept building. Which our hero Batman prevented from being contaminated. LaSalle street was also featured prominently in The Untouchables

It's great. Ledger is superb. {[] But is just me, or does Caine sound like he has adopted a Cockney accent?
"He’s a man way out there in the blue, riding on a smile and a shoeshine. And when they start not smiling back—that’s an earthquake. and then you get yourself a couple of spots on your hat, and you’re finished. Nobody dast blame this man. A salesman is got to dream, boy. It comes with the territory." Death of a Salesman

What do you think? Quite evident from this pic that he's applying makeup and no signs of orgin stemming from a chemical-altering bath.
Yeah--that's something that's troubling me. Personally, I don't want an origin story for the Joker or to think he's just a regular human being with a makeup fetish. Leave his looks without explanation, as Bob Kane and co. did in the early comics, and as Cesar Romero did in the TV series! But at least Ledger is wearing purple. . .

He does the laugh quite well. Very Hamill esque. The rest of his speech will take getting used to, as RA said.
im still trying to see Ledger as the Joker, i just got Jack embedded in my head, but im sure Heath will do a good job, and i do hope he gets screwed up somehow, his smile doesnt look like its a distorted, whacked out one, just some overdrawn makeup
I read once that both the Joker and Batman go thru some changes throughout the film so it is yet possible that the Joker's white complexion may become permanent - that's a guess, not a spoiler, BTW.
Ledger's version of the Joker is what it is and there's no point wishing for something that's out of my control. I like his voice and I like his laugh. His look is still odd but hopefully it will fit within the context of the film.
Let me start by saying I f**&%#@#! hate Quick Time. I liked the teaser, I thought Joker's voice was suitable and happy to see Michael Caine back.
As for Joker's look, I thought he looked fine. However, put me in the camp that we need some explanation for it. I guy who likes to wear make up doesn't get it.

What's wrong with Quicktime, Barry? Please don't tell me you prefer WMV or Realplayer.
It may be the trailer, but the movie started slowing down towards the end when the joker was talking.
I think im starting to miss the Tim Burton Joker, but at very least we'll see a drastically different interpretation of the character.

I can't get the trailer to play (naturally X-( ), but I'm not at all enthused by this interpretation of the Joker's face
Ah well; you can't win them all. I'm still looking forward to TDK with great anticipation, and have every confidence that Ledger's performance will be a good one

Window's Media Player any day of the week.
I agree, Barry...Quicktime indeed sucks most times...but so does Real Player when I think about it. It was the devil for me to fully enjoy this teaser.
WMP for me as well.

I love Ledger's voice from this and the laugh that was reported to be all but abandoned. I hope not.

It's an excellent teaser.
There's plenty of talent carrying the ball here, and I'm sure it's going to be great...I can't wait!

Yeah, he'll take some getting used to because when I'm watching tv or read comics with Joker in it I am programmed to Mark Hamill's voice...
