Looking at the pics, which are awesome BTW, TDK WILL OWN the summer of '08!!!! {[]
So my bias is showing...
Ledger's look is my only concern but his performance just may compensate for that.

I don't know why but looking at the movie stills over and over again, this just seems to be my favorite of the lot. Maybe for the playful sickness that Joker is displaying... It looks like he was aiming for crotch and missed. )
Is it me or does The Joker's clothes remind you of Frank Gorshin's Riddler look just a little? ?:)

It's you!
Seriously, I don't get a Frank Gorshin vibe; it just looks like a poor-man's version of the typical Joker garb to me - and by poor man's I mean that the suit seems to be put together of disparate items, not a tailored outfit.
It is kind of strange seeing Batman in such bright surroundings though - he's really been a creature of the night in most of these movies. In that respect, the scene does remind me of the old TV show. In fact...

OMG, I was thinking the same thing! )
I agree with the daily surroundings feel, I was wondering about that. Is Nolan trying to take the "dark" aspect from Batman? ?:)
Maybe it was Joker's vest that gave me the Gorshin vibe.

Based on some of those other photos, maybe it isn't even the real Batman in that pic. Or maybe this is Nolan's way of addressing some fans' complaints that the fights in the first movie were sometimes hard to make out.
As I've said before, best to enjoy the photos for what they are but not analyse them too much at this early stage. The moratorium continues, sort of.

Well, remember that production stills often make the sets look a lot brighter than the finished film. I've watched plenty of "Making-Of" features on DVDs and have seen what is dark and gloomy on the screen look like a Mexican game show. As for the Joker's clothes, well, Nolan said long before Ledger was cast that the J-man would have sort of a "raggedy" look. I was expecting the worst there, but at least he's wearing purple. . .and the bi-color socks are a nice touch.

There is absolutely zero Gorshin resemblance, you crazy old man.

Someone agreed with me here at work that the vest had a Gorshin feel to it. I thought that it was a little familiar. I never recalled Joker wearing green and that's why I made that association. Glad to know that I wasn't the only one and like Hardy, the socks are a nice touch.

I'm assuming that last pic is ment to be in a police interegation room. I wonder if batman is going to break in to GCPD as it seems a bit too early for Gordon to be letting him in through the front door

I can see it a little more in that picture, not at all in the first one you were talking about.
And I'm beginning to think you misunderstood my oops joke...
Some interesting news. . .there's been a lot of speculation that Anthony Michael Hall would be playing Edward Nygma, aka The Riddler; but apparently this ain't so. As for the role he IS playing, well, it's crucial to the plot. If you want to know more, you'll just have to read it for yourself:
Yesterday a former candy factory in Chicago was blown up as part of the Batman production currently taking place here. I have included a link to a local television station that had footage of the explosion. Enjoy
The video that pops up is of some flooding we have had around here, but if you scroll down a little you will see the video clip (second from the left) of the Batman footage. When you click on it, scroll back up and click on the little camera. Hope the directions help.

Wow: that's a bit impressive! Thanks for the link.
Not sure what that reporter was thinking, trying to do a link to camera while the building was blowing up! First of all: no-one wants to hear what you've got to say while a building is exploding (!), and second: enjoy it yourself! What's the point of being a reporter on the scene if you're looking the other way?
I hope the dark knight movie will be exciting. The joker character was cast poorly in previous batman movie.
Careful now. Whilst Jack Nicholson may not have been much like the comics, he certainly did become the Joker to a generation of people. Same with the Penguin and Catwoman - not cast like in the comic books, certainly meant alot to the generation who watched the movie.
IGN has a new article with possible info on the villains in the next Batman movie after TDK. Be warned however that the article has some major potential SPOILERS regarding TDK as well (assuming they're true, of course). Read at your own discretion:

ALLOCINE has posted a brief snippet of an interview with Heath Ledger about his role as The Joker in the upcoming TDK. It's all in French minus his part which Ledger speaks so go to 2:18 to hear what he has to say. B-)
I saw in todays sun paper here in the u.k. that a member of the crew was killed yesterday while working out some of the stunts with the batmobile. I have just found out that the man involed was a friend of mine who trains with us here in london. he was also one of the guys who built the model of the building that collapses in venice in CR I'm still stunned as I write this so forgive me if its not very coherent.
my thoughts go out to Conway's wife and children. he was one of the good guys and i know i'll miss him.

Surrey Police and the Health and Safety Executive said they were investigating a workplace fatality on a London film set.

Joker wearing green? You may not be a crazy old man, Rogue, but I think you might be color blind!
Please excuse me, I meant a vest like that in that shade. That's the vest Riddler wears minus the question marks...
