Okay, fellas...do you like it? Official teaser poster.
Um .... NO! I think it sucks and is actually one of the worst posters I've ever seen. What happened to the good old posters with actual pictures or even paintings of the stars? Way too subtle and abstract for me, even for a teaser poster. I wouldn't be surprised if it flies right over the common Joe's head; even SpectreIsland completely missed that it was supposed to be a play on the Joker's face. As bad as Batman and Joker look, this is worse. I absolutely HATE it.
BTW, AICN has a description of what it claims are the first 6 minutes of the movie. Here's the link but read at your own discretion as there are spoilers galore.
Maybe it's my violently negative reaction to the poster but frankly, it didn't do much for me. Not very Jokerish if you ask me and I know his thugs are supposed to be stupid, but jeez, give me a break.
I liked the Batman Begins poster, but not this one so much(and yes,I see the dual reference and understand it's trying to be subtle). In my opinion,The Dark Knight poster isn't especially attractive or exciting or compelling--it's just sorta...there.

On the contrary, buddy. After reading that supposed spoiler, this movie is starting to AMP me up more! The Dark Knight is shaping up to OWN the summer movies of '08!

Thanks for that link. BTW, I'm on the fence with the poster. Not bad really but just too simplistic I suppose for such an anticipated sequel. I guess I expected more but it'll do.

[Caine] told Empire: "Now, we have had Jack Nicholson, who is one of the greatest Jokers and one of the greatest characters in this kind of movie.
"I have worked with Jack and I know him really well. You do not really want to follow Jack into anything. Unless it's a nightclub...Heath Ledger stunned me.
"Jack played The Joker as sort of a benign nasty clown - like a wicked uncle. Heath plays him like an absolutely maniacal murderous psychopath. You have never seen anything like it in your life.
"He is very, very scary. I turn up every month or so and do a couple of bits then go back to London. I had to do this bit where

watch a video which The Joker sends to threaten us
.
"So I'd never seen him, and then he came on the television in the first rehearsal and I completely forgot my lines. I flipped, because it was so stunning, it was quite amazing. Wait until you see it, it's incredible."
IGN: How would you describe Joker's walk? It's not quite a limp. It's the first thing I noticed about the character. There's just something ... off.
Nolan: There's just a feel to it and you can't put your finger on it, and that's what I love about it. It's very original and very unique. It's a unique combination of elements. He would just blow me away every day on set. It was an incredible thing to watch.
I've got to see these little quirks that Ledger's appeared to have added to the character. B-)

Your sarcasm is oozing out... :v
Faithful adaptation?
You and your double standards (DareDevil anyone?) )
All I can say is, don't blame me. Blame John Drake. After Italy qualified for Euro 2008 and Scotland got bounced he cursed me by making me an Honorary Scotsman. So it's now my God-given right to be bitter and cynical about everything. )

Well seriously I had as many issues with DD's costume as I do with Batman's now. I don't like it.

The people at BATMAN ON FILM were invited to an L.A. prologue screening of the first seven minutes of TDK and from what they've written, they were blown away with the footage. Here their review:

REVIEW: "The TDK Prologue"

6:02 AM Warner Bros. was kind enough to invite us (Hell, The Joker even sent us a cake!) and BOF contributor "The Jacksaur from LA" attended the LA screening of "TDK Prologue." Here's his report:
After months upon months of waiting, we've finally got our first footage of Heath Ledger's terrifying interpretation of our favorite maniacal clown.
Rather than rundown the events of the footage, which you'll be able to see in IMAX very soon, I'm just going to give you what you're really interested in: details on Ledger’s performance as The Joker.
The first thing that strikes you is his imposing figure; this is a Joker built for one-on-one combat with Batman. A threatening figure, a physicality that frightens and intimidates. His voice is raspy, with a modulating pitch that seems to run from Hamill-esque highs to Nicholson's growly lows.
He moves like every part of his body could strike at any moment, a walking embodiment of the anarchy he creates. And when he takes off that mask, and flashes us a smile that makes you beg for more -- you just know this is going to be something special!
If I have a complaint with the footage shown, it's that Mr. J is behind a mask nearly the whole time. And even that doesn't seem to slow down this terrific, bizarre performance.
We get two good shots of his face, and the make-up is the same thing we've all seen in leaked shots and set footage. But blown up in IMAX format, those dark eyes get pretty damn scary. And that cut mouth looks mighty real. And I'm telling you, that smile is something really, really special.
What a tease. And according to Warner Bros. insiders at the junket, this is nothing compared to what's coming.

So do I. The character is so familiar, it should be fun to see how Ledger makes it his own. The makeup, I think, is a great idea. Nicholson's -- and the comic book's -- is too professional-looking for a realistic take on Batman. Ledger's looks like it was self-applied by a deranged mind rather than by Estee Lauder.
Fellow TDK fans, I should point that there will be a series of short animated films linking the two Nolan Batman films, just like Clone Wars was for SW: Episodes II and III. This comes from the latest Wizard magazine.

Here's a new pic of the batsuit pulled off of Batman on Film.
And another picture of the grungy Joker...
I'm a DIEHARD BATMAN fan & I cannot wait for this film to come out...but that is one of the WORST looking batsuits that I have ever seen. I just hate it. I really think that Nolan should've consulted someone who's in the know before okaying that look.
For a man whose milieu doesn't have the word "fantastical" in it, he certainly went against his grain on that. It's just too busy and not a good-looking busy either. I mean it is almost as bad as Clooney's in the climax of that film.
I was more worried about Joker's look when I should've been concerned about the main character's get-up more. Maybe the shadows in the film will keep his costume lowkey. Maybe it won't bother me much if the film is good...as more than likely, it will be.
Tattered Joker looks great though. I was expecting an actual medievil Jester so this look is a great relief. B-)

As for the Batman and Joker pictures, Batman's cowl looks pretty good, but the rest is just... yuck. Busy is right.
And I've seen that Joker picture before, I think.
