It looks like a giant bat has crashed into the billboard. In fact, this is a 3D bat symbol shaped hole complete with debris on a billboard at Sunset and La Brea in Hollywood. What will they think of next?

With July 20th coming quick, I have a favor to ask. Once the movie is released and the discussions start, please don't forget to use spoiler tags. I'm sure there's a few people here who won't be able to see the movie on opening weekend. Thanks in advance!!!!
Some people would complain even if you hang them with a new rope

I will certainly respect your request. I will not be seeing The Dark Knight Rises on opening weekend but am planning to sometime during the following week.
In the meantime, here is a new banner poster. Bane watches on as Gotham burns.

A new synopsis has been released and the running time has been confirmed at 164 minutes. I will put the synopsis under a spoiler tag.
It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good.
For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda.
Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.

To wet your appetite even more, here's a 13 minute featurette on The Dark Knight rises. I don't see anything in way of spoilers. There's a little bit of new footage and quite a few still pics.
Thanks for the link, Mr Martini. A very enjoyable featurette that certainly whets my appetite even more. There was a special screening for members of the press a couple of days ago and reports say it was given a standing ovation.
Christopher Nolan has been honoured in a ceremony outside Hollywood's iconic Grauman's Chinese Theatre and is now on the Walk of Fame. Members of The Dark Knight Rises cast turned out in support.
A new clip has been released featuring Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman) and police officer John Blake (Joseph Gordon-Levitt). Blake looks like he will be a key character as events unfold in The Dark Knight Rises.
A storm has come to Rotten Tomatoes. For the first time in it's history it has disabled comments due to a backlash against critics who posted less than positive reviews of The Dark Knight Rises.
Really sad news. There are reports of a shooting incident at the premiere of The Dark Knight Rises in Denver. Someone wearing a gas mask opened fire and set of a device, perhaps a tear gas bomb. Reuters quoted a local reporter saying ten people had died but this is unconfirmed.
Just saw it then. OH MY GOD! See it and be grateful I don't provide you with a reason to persuade you. For goodness sakes, DO NOT have a social life or an internet connection before seeing this movie.

Just read about this then. Very sad for the families and friends of the victims this will impact plus also for the victims themselves. One of which was a baby less than 12 months old.
Jeez... I kind of feel sorry in a way for Chris Nolan, I mean all that time and effort to make a movie event of the year and it gets hijacked by some no-mark. You just know it's gonna be a bloke who's done this, and most likely not a radical Muslim or any of that melodramtic stuff that taps into the Middle East-West mindset, just some loser with a gun.
Anyway, not great reviews for the film this side of town, and Harry Knowles has slammed it on aintitcool. 2 stars in i newspaper, it does sound quite a heavygoing piece, but it's the running time that would put off the indifferent like myself, plus the fact it's in Imax would make it even more intense - yet you're not getting the whole experience otherwise.
Well I saw it yesterday and I thought it was outstanding, great ending to a great trilogy. Who cares what Harry Knowles thinks. Is it intense, you bet, but that is what I expected. Audience aplauded at the end, I think the customers were happy.

Agreed. One of the most satisfying films I've seen all year. Very, very good. I got out of the cinema about two hours ago, and I can't wipe the grin off my face B-)

I've been told its been getting mixed reviews but Like B Nelson I saw it a couple of nights ago
and thought it was brilliant, loads of little touches that just lift it to a superior movie, and
the audience broke into applause after it finished too. B-)
"I've been informed that there ARE a couple of QAnon supporters who are fairly regular posters in AJB."
The Dark Knight Rises made an estimated $160 million (£103 million) at the US and Canadian box offices on it's opening weekend, a record for a non 3D film. "For this film to still be in the rarefied air of the top three openings of all time is phenomenal, given the unfortunate circumstances surrounding the release of this film," said Paul Dergarabedian, a box office analyst for Hollywood.com.
