(PTS) CARACAS, VENEZUELA

James Bond is sent to the ghetto of Caracas, Venezuela to spy on a secret meeting between South African mercenary/terrorist Xavier Sharpe, a proponent of all blacks of South Africa seceding to their
own nation, and since the South African government refuses to do this, he causes national and international tension by committing terrorist acts and the CEO of PoloCorp, Dirk Polonius,
a manufacturer of super-strong metal alloys. While observing from the apartment across the way, a sniper shoots out the window, which alarms Sharpe and Polonius. Polonius quickly escapes into his helicopter
behind the apartment but now Sharpe and Bond must face off. Sharpe takes to a gunship and Bond to his Aston Martin V12 Vanquish and they have a Bond/Naomi style chase around Caracas, though Sharpe's copter packs
more punch. Barely dodging a missile, Bond activates and fires one torpedo at the copter, directing Sharpe's attention to shoot it down, while he discharges all the other missiles at him. Sharpe's copter goes
down in a fiery blaze into an abandoned apartment complex.

Bond drives back to the apartment where Polonius and Sharpe met and ransacks it, looking for information, and the only lead is a presentation about manipulating the weather to end world hunger the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, Illinois by
French meteorologist Dr. Victor Michel.

(TITLES SEQUENCE)

LONDON, ENGLAND

Bond reports back to MI6 HQ, where he sees Moneypenny bending over the desk shuffling papers, Bond comments on how he's enjoying the view and Moneypenny tells him to relish the moments because M wants to hear
the results of his trip immediately. He walks into the office and informs M about his lead, which she says may be a possibility, as she notes that Polonius repeatedly donated to the Michel Research Foundation. Q attends the briefing and hands out some
new gizmos for Bond in the field which are:

Q-Spider: Enables Bond to go to hard-to-reach places and clear out areas before going to them,

Remote-Controlled Car: Can be ejected from the Aston Martin and used as a distraction (the "car" version of the Q-Spider)

Multi-Functional Watch (with grapple, laser, stun, dart)

However, M mentions that the presentation does not happen for a few more days, and Bond asks to investigate Michel's private villa in Nice, as he is already in Chicago preparing for the presentation, so it would be easier to snoop about.

HEATHROW AIRPORT, LONDON, ENGLAND

While at Heathrow Airport where he realizes he's being followed by a dark woman in sunglasses, cutting into the Men's Room, he pins her to the wall as she reaches into
her pocket. She tells him to relax and says that she's on his side and introduces herself as Corazon Santiago, a CIA agent. He asks why she was following him and reports
that their superiors agreed to have them pool their resources to investigate Michel and see if there was any connection between him and Polonius. Bond suggests that they
pool their resources at another venue after they search the villa and after the presentation.

NICE, FRANCE

Soft music accompanies Bond and Corazon's insertion into France, which turns into a dark, cold, techno feel once they arrive at Dr. Michel's villa. It's also become decidedly
cloudy and they climb the wall to see if there is any security. There's light security, to which Bond and Corazon jump the wall and attack the two men patrolling the grounds, afterward
Corazon tries to one-up Bond by destroying the security camera while he was walking in its path, something he's not happy about. They decide to start on the roof and scale the building and look
through the plate-glass atrium window on the top to see that there's light security in there as well. Corazon states that she has an idea and asks Bond for his watch laser to which she promptly
cuts a hole in the glass, which is remarkably heavy. When the two security guards meet on their patrol, Corazon kicks the glass in and crushes them, knocking them out. Bond and Corazon infiltrate the villa.

Corazon suggests that there's probably not much more security, so they could go their separate ways, but comments on a lovely collection of polearms that Michel has, citing that its her speciality. Bond says he'll try to find his office and Corazon would
try to search for any documents that Michel has left around the house. The camera cuts between Bond and Corazon until Bond opens a door revealing a striking French woman sprawled out on a chaise lounge who quickly looks up, loses her temper and starts to
call security. Bond tells her to calm down and says that he's part of the new security team that was just brought in. She believes him and resumes her lounging. Bond asks who she is and she explains that she is Celeste Michel, the wife of the famous meteorologist.
She explains that she could not attend the gala per her husband's request and begins to speak of her husband's fascination with celestial bodies, and Bond says that he shares the same fascination. Bond and Celeste... pass time, and when
they're through, he asks where her husband's office is.

She apprehensively calls the guard off and leads Bond into the office where he explains his true motives, draws his gun and refuses to let her leave until she tells him where Michel keeps all of his research material. Celeste draws a breath
and says it's behind the portrait of all the seasons colliding in a massive whirlwind. He lifts the portrait off the wall to reveal the keypad, to which Celeste says is 11375, her birthday. Bond opens it and photographs all of the evidence inside, and replaces
the files. Suddenly, Captain Serrat, the head of security, and crew bust down the doors with guns drawn. He says that the safe is to be opened by no one while Michel is away and reveals that Bond isn't actually on the security team. He asks for Miss Michel to be detained and for
the camera, as he assumes that Bond must've taken pictures of the files. Bond then looks at Celeste and says that he hopes to see her soon and jumps out the window onto the balcony and climbs up to the top by shooting a watch grapple. The guards throw Celeste to the ground
and head up the stairs to the roof and we see Corazon peeking out from one of the rooms and while the guards pile onto the roof she takes one of her grenades and tosses it at them. She runs for cover to find an alternate route to the top. Bond disarms one of the oncoming guards
and begins shooting at them as they chase him across the roof. While the guards are running he shoots out the glass roof windows which causes them to collapse onto the floor below, killing them. When he gets to the other side of the roof he hears a noise behind him and sees
Captain Serrat pointing a pistol at him. Bond puts his hands up into the air and looks despaired and when Serrat thinks he has won, he is riddled with bullets. Looking behind him, Bond sees Corazon holding the smoking gun to which she gloats about saving Bond's life once again and
Bond says that he owes her one. He asks about the whereabouts of Celeste and Corazon said she overheard that some of Serrat's men were flying her out to Chicago, and since that was where they were going next anyway, Bond agrees its time to go.

LONDON, ENGLAND

Bond and Corazon go to England where they are met by M and General Rogers, who is Corazon's superior at the CIA. They said that Bond found shipping requests to PoloCorp for a top-secret metal that can resist extreme temperatures and about borrowing a space shuttle from NASA in order
to travel to a destination in space, but the destination is not specified. Dr. Michel's partner in the research project is a Dr. Miranda Frost and M says it's top priority to interview Miss Frost and he says that he'll be as hard-hitting as he possibly can. Bond and Corazon leave, but not
without encouragement from M and General Rogers to keep Bond in line.

SCIENCE AND INDUSTRY MUSEUM, CHICAGO, ILLINOIS

Bond and Corazon attend the closed gala, posing as journalists, where they meet Dr. Miranda Frost, one of Dr. Michel's research associates, and her mother, Jennifer Frost.
Dr. Frost informs them that what Dr. Michel is up to is to be kept under wraps until the presentation but she says it does involve using a super-alloy from Polonius Industries and
Bond persuades her to let him interview her further at her and her mother's house in Lake Forest, and she agrees. The lights dim and Michel asks Dr. Frost to join him on the podium.
Michel reveals that what he's doing is launching a large disc made of sun-resistant super alloy into space so that the world will be able to grow crops at its convenience and end poverty and world hunger.
He asks everyone to please retreat to another exhibit for drinks and how he will return shortly.

He goes to a back room and asks someone who's back is turned to the camera about the man and woman chatting up the Frosts. The man turns around to reveal that its Xavier Sharpe, who
has massive scarring and burn markes all over his face. He says how the man, James Bond, is the one who scarred him, and says how its imperative that he be eliminated, and from what he
gathered he found out the woman was CIA operative Corazon Santiago. He also reveals that Frost blabbed some secret information on the project and Dr. Michel orders some men to chase them
into the city and stop them from returning home. Corazon tells Bond that she'll stick around to see if anyone else knows anything and to see if she can find Celeste.

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS

Bond and the Frosts are sitting in the backseat of their limousine, speaking about the project, when they hear gunfire outside of the car and the windshield shatters. The driver quickly climbs into the back and asks for one of them to take over
driving, as he acts as the bodyguard as well, so he pulls out his gun and begins to shoot at the pursuers. Frost takes the wheel while James and the driver continue their shootout with the pursuers when the driver is hit, falls against the door and tumbles
out of the car, dead. Frost calls out for him but Bond orders her to keep driving. Sharply turning a corner, Frost ends up careening through a hotel lobby, disrupting and destroying a wedding reception while the pursuers completely destroy it. Jennifer then takes
two UZI's out of the champagne compartment, stands up to peek out of the sunroof and obliterates the man in the opposing sunroof. Bond stares at her as she reloads her Uzis and continues to shoot at the opposing cars. While they are driving Bond looks up and shoots a crane, causing it to fall
and crush one of the cars. They continue to drive and Bond asks Miranda where they're going. She says they are headed toward Navy Pier but she can turn around to go to their house and lose them in the subdivisions. Bond says to continue to the pier and drive off of it, which causes Miranda to
question the man's sanity. They drive into Navy Pier, causing many bystanders to flee and many attractions demolished. Miranda drives toward the actual pier and when Bond says to stop and get out of the car that she will. As they drive down the pier Bond says to swerve, hit the brakes and jump out
of the car. They do so, leaving the limo enveloping the width of the pier and the oncoming driver crashes through it and into the water. Jennifer gets out of the water and unloads the Uzis on the vehicle until it explodes. Bond, Miranda and Jennifer all leave the dumbfounded bystanders to go home.

FROST ESTATE, LAKE FOREST, ILLINOIS

Bond asks Frost about the project, to which she replies that it's taken billions to fund and quite a few sizeable donations by many countries with unsavory reputations. She said how her mother moved in with
her after her father was killed and how she was almost killed in a flood. Bond asks Jennifer is she is truly Jenny Flex, the steroid-induced creation of Dr. Carl Mortner, to which she replies yes, but explicitly
states that the days of being a mercenary were over after the double-crossing of Zorin and the death of her friends May Day and Pan Ho. Frost continues talking about what she exactly did with the project, specifically the heating
patterns by the sun needed to create the weather needed but thugs dressed in state-of-the-art military gear crash through the windows and begin shooting at them. Bond tells the Frosts to head upstairs when Jenny quickly disarms one
of the men and shoots him into the hall closet and says she'll stick with Bond. By the time Miranda climbs the staircase another thug is up there and she's caught between their gunfire. She ducks and they kill each other, and
she grabs a pistol from one of the fallen men and retreats to her bedroom.

Bond and Jenny defeat the guards and while more arrive, Corazon also does in a helicopter, opens the doors and allows Jenny, Miranda and Bond to jump in. After they do, they take a seat and Dr. Michel emerges from the
rear cabin. Xavier takes over the helicopter and Corazon joins him, revealing that the one who tried to get Bond killed in Venezuela was Corazon herself, but the attempt failed and she lured him to Chicago so he could
get rid of him and the Frost's as they knew to much. Bond asks Dr. Michel where they're headed and he says that they're going to the PoloCorp African HQ, where the rocket to his space lab is, outside of Kinshasa. He then tranquilizes all three of them.

PoloCorp AFRICAN DIVISIONAL HEADQUARTERS, KINSHASA, ZAIRE

Bond awakens to a slap in the face by Corazon and being kicked to the ground while Xavier, Capt. Serrat, Celeste and Dr. Michel are sitting at a dinner table on the rooftop of the PoloCorp skyscraper. Dr. Michel presents Bond with his signature vodka martini,
shaken not stirred, and says that he made it to the best of his abilities, as it would be Bond's last drink. Bond says its lovely, but that the tranquilizer has impaired his judgement. Michel laughs it off and Bond asks what he is intending to do with his quasi-sattelite.
He says that thanks to Dr. Frost, he is able to control the weather by affecting where the sunlight goes in different parts of the world. Bond laughs it off as absurd but Michel says that it's simple, since he will be heating different areas, the normalized pressure in
certain areas will become uneven and violent winds and storms will reap their lands while the countries that are paying him for good weather will flourish. Frost calls him a madman as she thought she was helping prolong mankind by aiding in the building of this device. She
says that she is helping one man, and that that is good enough. He also says that there is not one, but two traitors among them and points to his wife that she was the one who led Bond to his nefarious schemes and that Captain Serrat (who was shot by Corazon, wearing heavy armor)
informed to him that she was in the office with Bond when he snapped photos of the plans. Michel says that he's divorcing her, and when she says that he has no time, he was thinking of a different kind of divorce. He calls Corazon to take her away, and Bond protests but is restrained by
Xavier and Serrat. Celeste puts up a last ditch effort, punches Corazon, knocking the gun from her hands, giving Bond the opportunity to knock back Serrat and Xavier and distract the other guards. He drags Miranda and Jenny behind him, picking up the gun and shooting at the remaining members.
When he goes to save Celeste however, Corazon recovers and kicks her off the helipad, and she falls to her death. When she goes for Bond, Jenny kicks her to the ground and when the henchmen surround them, he just says to fall back. They do so and fall off the helipad and clutch the exterior elevator as it moves all the way
down to the ground level. Bond pulls out a remote and the Aston Martin drives to his present location, and remarks about how Q can really come through in a clinch and they get in. Bond sees the remote controlled car that Q left him in the passengers seat and says that he put an extra surprise in the explosive charge and
when Bond opens it he sees a highly-concentrated plastic explosive.

Bond drives it out of the car and as a distraction, drives the car into the skyscraper and detonates it in the heart of the lobby, setting the place aflame. They drive away. Miranda mentions that she knew of Michel going to take off in the rocket to observe the platform and make any adjustments, and knows where the launch pad is.
Michel and his men are slightly behind Bond, having survived the turmoil at the skyscraper, Sharpe now bearing scars on both sides of his face. Bond arrives first but waits for Michel to make the preparations for takeoff and then secretly board. While he is going into the shuttle, Polonius remarks that Bond getting away means that he'll
have to pay his PR people extra to cover up any incidents, such as the skyscraper fire. Michel says he understands completely and that Sharpe will escort him to a conference room in order to negotiate a deal. He leads Polonius to a "conference room" but after he gets in, Sharpe closes a tightly enforced metal door and leaves. Polonius begins
panicking and demands to know where he is. The roof above him opens and shows that he's been put beneath the shuttle exhaust. Bond, Miranda and Jenny are arguing over who should go on the shuttle. Jenny says she'll stay behind to warn other people of the incident, since Miranda knows how to stop Michel. They see Corazon, Sharpe and Michel boarding
while Serrat is seen in the control room initiating the countdown. Bond and Miranda make a run for it, knocking out the two auxiliary guards that were following them and taking their space suits, run into the ship. The doors close and the rocket launches, while Polonius is burnt to a crisp. Soon they arrive at the space station where they order the guards to
stand by.

MICHEL'S SPACE STATION, EARTH ORBIT, OUTER SPACE

Michel gives a speech on the countries he will aid and how he will have so much control over them as he'll be able to move the sunlight over to a more desperate country should they choose to pay up and Bond says that he's sorry to ruin the party but that he needs to stop Michel if the free world can continue to exist. Michel says he expected Bond to somehow be aboard
and orders Sharpe to open fire, which he does, but Bond quickly dodges and starts shooting at him. Miranda in the confusion takes out her gun and begins to shoot but accidentally hits the stabilizers, throwing the space station off kilter and sending everyone flying in different directions. Michel gets up and begins manipulating the world in Western Europe, to which we
cut to violent thunderstorms, tornadoes and hurricanes devastating the area and chaos abounding while Michel smiles. Bond strikes him down and begins to fight him while Miranda goes in search of the emergency shutoff controls, which she quickly finds and starts to disarm it when Corazon kicks her down. Corazon says that she hopes that Miranda learned how to fight from mom
and Miranda quickly knocks her off balance and into the ground and says no one talks about her mother that way. The two begin battling it out with polearms, Corazon's favorite pasttime. Sharpe enters the fray in the Bond/Michel fight, and throws Bond off of Michel so Michel can go back to manipulating the weather. We cut to more devastation that has now spread to the US and
the gradual melting of the ice caps. Bond and Sharpe begin fighting, with Sharpe having quite an advantage, however they see Miranda and Corazon battling in the hallway they're going down which distracts him. Bond pushes Corazon into the wall and Sharpe onto her polearm, killing him. Miranda continues to swat her weapon at Corazon as she knocks Sharpe's body off of hers. We
cut to Bond running up to the command deck which has now been sealed off. Miranda and Corazon have fought their way to the ladder leading to the observation deck until Corazon uses enough impact to bat the weapon out of Miranda's hands where it cuts an electrical wire. Corazon tells her she hates to execute people but she'll take joy in killing Miranda, as Corazon charges her,
Miranda moves out of the way and electrifies the ladder to the observation deck, to which Corazon slams into and screams as she's being electrocuted. Miranda says it's a shock that she made it this long and adds "bitch" at the end for impact. She drops the wire and looks for Bond, taking her polearm with for protection.

Michel says that he's cutting off the air supply everywhere except for the command deck, and since there is no way to get in there, Bond and Miranda should just surrender. Miranda and Bond sit hopelessly next to the door leading to the deck, and give a last kiss. He and Miranda decide to retreat to the small observation tower to enjoy the view of space and each other privately. Hours pass and his mind is going, but his memory flashes
to Celeste's face quickly, then to a calendar with an X over January 13th and back to Michel's safe. Bond regains his energy, enough to send out the Q-Spider, as he hasn't regained his strength, to input the code, Celeste's birthday into the keypad and oxygen is restored to the area as the door to the command deck opens. Michel says that it's spread to Russia and that soon the world will be at his fingertips. This is the precise moment where Miranda swats him
out of the way and destroys all the equipment, sending the world on its way back to normal. Michel gets up and runs away while Miranda and Bond rejoice, but in reality he's going to an escape pod made of the sun-resistant alloy because there's an auxiliary command center on the disc itself, but says they must put on space-suits as the disc is not oxygenated. Miranda realizes this and begs James that they must go,
as destroying the disc will be the end of it all. Bond and Miranda board the other pod and go to the disc. Michel then adjusts the sun so that now the entire world will be under siege by the awful weather so he can extort more money from the countries. Bond fights him away from the controls once again, while Miranda sits and sees the propulsion controls. Miranda looks back as Bond smashes Michel's head into the wall,
making him dazed and having to sit down. Miranda says that the crucial part of his plan was the ability to move the disc, and says that the alloy can resist the sun's temperature to a certain degree but no more, so she proposes to put the disc in reverse to speak. Bond okays this and Miranda jerks the controls all the way back while Bond says the forecast for Michel's death will be sunny with a chance of scalding.
They retreat into the escape pod, realizing it hasn't enough fuel to make it to Earth, so they quickly board the rocket and make a second trip back where they get off at a rocky landing in Kinshasa. They go over the launching area where Serrat is in the control room and destroy it, killing him. Jenny approaches the wreckage and finds Miranda and James celebrating what they'd done up there. Jenny looks away and up into
the sky where she sees the disc gradually go into the sun. We quickly cut to Michel screaming "NOOO!" as he's finally enveloped and back to Earth.

M pages Bond in the rocket and congratulates him and Dr. Frost on a job well done. She also says that he may take two weeks leave due to the intensity of this assignment and he complies. Miranda asks why Bond is so attracted to her and he says that frosty types are especially sexy when they melt. They kiss and the camera pans to the sun.

THE END

A promising start. Then the sci-fi kicked in and you lost me.

But I love what you did with the Halle Berry/Rosamund Pike roles.

That doesnt solve the main problem of Die Another Day - Toby Stephens as Gustav Graves.

This sneering **** sank the whole film with just one performance. And the lousy Tamahori direction was just the icing on the cake.

That's why Graves plays a very minor role in this film compared to the other. If enough people want him out of the rewrite completely, I will definitely do that and make another actor with another name step in.

Now I've replaced Toby Stephens' Gustav Graves with Christopher Eccleston's Dirk Polonius, who would no doubt make that character much more serious.
