OP and AVTAK are my first two bond films ever, so I'm very fond of both. I too see the similarities in tone. It's a very close call, but I would say AVTAK, just because I love the PTS, the song is classic, the Eiffel Tower scenes, the Chateau, whereas I think the India scenes in OP are a bit slow. That scene I love the last half of OP (from Berlin onwards).

Scarpine could've been better written but I enjoy him none the less & Mortner is a charming character.
Police chase wasn't needed but I guess they wanted to get the most out of the location shoot.
IMO , AVTAK is better than DAF/LALD/TMWTGG/MR/TND/TWINE/DAD.
Same here. OP starts out very strong, sags a bit in the middle, and then the 2nd half really picks up again.
