Hello,

just have been to Phuket/Thailand and certainly did the basic tour to James Bond island.
We had very high tide and lots of tourists, not much beach being over water...

What I recognized was, that to my opinion, the beach from the first scene (NicNac serving champagne and beer / Andrea and Scaramanga on the beach) must have been shot somewhere else. Does anybody know, where on the 42 islands in the Pha Nang region these scenes have been done?

I don't know the answer for sure, but I have always assumed that this scene was filmed in the studio, with a matted background and artificial sunlight.

I thought, the scenes on the beach have been far too realistic to be made in a studio....
