Where Do You Keep Your Collection.......?

In my house, we have "The Bond Room". In essence, it's actually our downstairs loo!! It's only about 6ft x 3ft, but I've managed to cram alot in there and it's certainly the talking point of our house! On display I have so far:

All 11 editions of the James Bond Car Collection on a glass shelf;
a Moonraker wrist dart gun with darts in a cassette case;
re-breather from Thunderball complete with Romeo & Julieta cigar case;
re-breather from Die Another Day;
an airsoft Walther PPK;
ice palace key from Die Another Day (crrently on eBay);
25 of my favourite framed and dedicated autographs;
2 photo albums which contain the rest of my dedicated and non-decicated autographs, along with pictures of the signers where applicable;
handful of 007 Magazine's (Graham Rye's)
the first 3 MKBB magazines (currently on eBay!)
approx 20 books;
OHMSS 25th anniversary VHS boxset;

Anyone else keep their collection in an unusual place??

    Pictures, Disco, pictures!!

    My Bond goodies are displayed in our walk out basement which acts as a media room, play room, sitting area etc and is about 1700 square feet. There is an unfinished area that we are finishing off so that will create a slightly larger space. None of my collecting bleeds into the other parts of the house and I quite like it that way...sort of crossing a threshhold leads you to fun and excitement etc...

    I had the pleasure of seeing The Mantis's collection in person a couple of weeks ago.

    His room is almost as big as my entire house and the photos really dont do it any justice its VERY impressive!

    Just be careful you don't accidentally knock anything in the loo. Sounds like Mantis's is less like a room and more like a museum or warehouse.

    Where do I keep my collection ? All over the bloody house :D

    TV room, downstairs loo, my room (4th bedroom), and attic - see also living room, dining room, stairs landing, 3rd bedroom - bits in main bedroom, etc, etc - in fact it's easier to say which rooms don't have any Bond in them :)) :# ;%

    My son is just completing his toilet training and he loves sitting on his little seat looking at the pictures, and the cars especially! He know not to touch though ;)

    Pretty much the same in the House Of Barbel, Sir Miles!

    Living room: Books, DVDs, CDs
    Stairway: Posters
    Bedroom: More books, CDs, assorted stuff (toys, magazines, etc)
    Son Of Barbel's room: More toys, books (he gets the paperbacks)
    Loft: Videos, even more books, magazines, etc

    Nothing in the loo, kitchen or dining room. I'd keep some stuff in the spare room, but Bride Of Barbel has commandeered that for her stuff!

    I have one Room just about dedicated to my Bond Stuff and also have some things in the entrance area of our house, and stuff going up the stairs....etc etc
    We're running out of wall space! but my wife is very tolerant and after the initial "thats not going on that wall" and the mutual agreement that nothing goes in the living room, she has come to terms that the stuff is decorative and a talking point for all guests.
    I hope one day to have a big enough house like Mantis to be able to display everything and have it as a "Private Playground" like he has. sounds Great!!!

    I don't have much room for a Bond room, but i have an armoire in my bedroom, threw out the T.V and instead watch my props, keeps them away from light and dust so for now i'll keep them there until i can find a better place or a bigger house.

    I will be posting a picture in the near future, i don't have a good area to place everything, so that i can take a decent picture of the props, when i do i will ask someone to help me post pictures on the forum.

    Super set-up - but do you really want to have your books in there ? What if you run out of toilet paper ? :))

    Disco Volante-
    I like your Bond Shrine. I may need to take your idea and move my collection to the loo! After getting a Judi Dench picture last week for my 40th and hanging it up yesterday,my wife said no more, suggesting that the "Bond Room"/computer room may one day be for child #2. In my bachelor day, my room mate and I shared a apartment which had a pink bathroom so to detrack from the bathroom color we put up pictures of movie icons. Hmmm, I wonder what the misses would say?:(|)

    Disco, love the bathroom! I guess my problem would be not getting up from the bowl for long periods of time.

    Very cool way to show off your goodies.{[]

    The bathroom is cool but PoorMansJB's hidden room is so totaly BOND!

    Agreed, but we need to see the room, not just the entrance...

    The question is "Where Do You Keep Your Collection?" We've got plenty (too many, in my opinion) of threads for "What's in Your Collection?"
  • The Bond ExperienceThe Bond Experience Newtown, PAPosts: 5,490Quartermasters
    I couldn't disagree with you more...I LOVE seeing other people's collections especially on this forum. I think there are other forums that like to show that they just bought a new Bond DVD or comic book but our crowd here really pleases with the pic.

    Bring 'em on....I think it is a great way to socialize the hobby.

    I think you may have mis-read my remark; I like seeing everyone else's collections, too, I just don't think we need so many separate threads for them. It would have been easier, for example, if we had kept Sideshow to just one thread or the partworks cars to just one; so much easier to go back and find certain posts that way rather than searching six or eight or twelve threads for a particular quote or image. Just my constrant desire for efficiency ...

    Ah, misread I did...you are correct, we should have a thread that is entitled "Newly Acquired Pieces"...I have seen such threads on other boards and it works well...
