I hope Mantis you will bring back a report for those of us that aren't able to attend. Bye the way, your report and pictures from the Baltimore premier of Casino Royale that you and your wife went to was great; you both looked like you had a great time! Thanks for sharing;)

i see it's here in California. But I can't afford the event and don't know where North Hills is. Trust me though, if I could afford it I'd rent a Tuxedo and be there. Hopefully someone from here will attend.
Some people would complain even if you hang them with a new rope

Go to www.astonmixer.com for details on the James Bond Charity event of the year!
Good morning, 007. Transmission begins from Moneypenny…
Early arrivals join us Friday at The Standard DOWNTOWN in Los Angeles (they are several Standard hotels in L.A.) at 550 South Flower Street (Intersection of Sixth Street), hotel is (213) 892-8080. This L.A. hotspot fills fast on Fridays, be prompt before all the martinis are drunk! Call my cell at (352) 682-9522 to find us at The Standard (hang onto my number in L.A. in case you get separated from the group)!
By late in the day on Friday, we'll be ensconced at The Standard's rooftop lounge. Come in costume to take photos around 4 - 5 PM (if wearing a Bond costume this year). There is both good lighting and scenic backdrops atop the hotel. Come in costume or bring a change of clothes and use our rooms to hop in and out of costume, though the hotel is very hip and you are welcomed in any costume at all! Stay late with us, there are snacks available at the lounge, and watch the stars come out with us above the City…
Saturday's tour features photo ops and 007 stops (yes, that rhymed). We depart The Standard's lobby at 9:15 AM SHARP. Please be prompt. We'll stop somewhere for lunch and return to the hotel by 3:30 PM or so. Wear WARM WEATHER SHORTS/CLOTHING AND COMFORTABLE SHOES on tour. I can't stress that last sentence enough. It will not be a "death march," but we will be walking to get the best experience…
Please also bring your grab bag gift(s) to Saturday, we'll exchange gifts to spice the trip. Bring a creative wrapped 007 something (20th anniversary of TLD gift, 30th anniversary of YOLT gift, gosh you can't buy this on eBay gift, etc.) and add it to the mix, then draw one out… most people spend $20 or less for a little something for their fellow fan. You hide what it is as best you can, then watch the fun as you pull a gift and watch yours opened as well.
At 6:30 PM our courtesy shuttle will bring you from The Standard's lobby to Galpin's Aston Club. A good time will be had by all. Sometime after Midnight, we'll get you back to The Standard unless there are bodies to be shoved in closets, bloody shirts needing a change or the odd defibrillation… your dress code for Galpin's Aston Club is "black and white creative". If black tie suits you, it suits us, or you can go formal or semi-formal as long as it's black, white or a bit of both. We went with a hosted bar. Drinks are actually free of cost. I like to underpromise, overdeliver where I can. There will not be a full dinner there, but there will be several stations of goodies there. There are also Bond personalities attending not on the website because they do not wish to be announced, etc. Also, since the Club is 100% closed otherwise to non-Aston owners, it is the bomb, it's a $2.5M showroom/club.
You need not meet us at The Standard if you wish to arrive on your own, or if you are on the other side of the Sierras sans parachute. Think twice, 007, it's a long way down... The Galpin's Club Aston event looks to be something unusual, a way to go out of the BCW's with a bang, I have tickets left if you want a friend to attend...
I know you'll enjoy Sunday, especially as the itinerary has changed to sleeping in! Rather than dragging out the day from early in the morning as previously stated, I brought the tour to Saturday to make life easy this year for everyone. Sunday is not starting early AM, rather we're sleeping in after the Aston party, followed by a good old-fashioned BCW luncheon downtown. More details TBA when I see you.
What can I say? Without your attendance, there would not be a BCW… ten! (Gosh!) I am grateful for your support and friendship. Together, we've had Bonding experiences, and a lifetime of memories… Vegas fireworks and a "live" tour of "dead" Slumber, Inc.; lobster and prawns at Kabby's while meeting with Vic Flick, Bruce Glover and more, clambering over Bond vehicles and Blofeld's bathosub, piano music from Raymond Benson, hangin' with David Carradine and Tanya Roberts, jumping off the roof of the Hemingway House like Tim Dalton, collectibles with Jaws and Holly Goodhead in 'Frisco… no, that never happened, lunch with Geoff Holder, which did happen, no that did happen, Jaws I mean, the Tim Dalton thing did not happen, though we did stand on the Hemingway House spot with technical advisor Paul Myers... SEE you soon.
Best, Matt Sherman 007
