Yeah, that is true, but we've since sourced almost all of the suppliers of the other shirts. You can also tell that the train-shirt and final scene shirt is Brioni as they have Brioni's signature tall collar.

Er, I have a Brioni shirt - bought in their Milan boutique, in fact - and it doesn't have a tall collar.
What should I do? Take it back and insist it's a fake?
He didn't say that all Bironi shirts have the tall collar, he says its their signature, which I take to mean as it is on most of their shirts, not nessasarily all. this signature however does allow us to identify both the final scene and the train scene shirt.

Asp,
i hear what you are saying but, again, i would say that kind of evidence is circumstantial. Using any kind of part of a shirt from a distance as a means of identification (particularly a collar on a custom shirt that could have any number of shapes, point lengths, widths, etc when done as a custom order) is particularly difficult.
I have just found it very strange that brioni is more than happy to be associated with CR for their association with the suits in the public domain but i have not seen one reference in any official capacity of associating them with the shirts - i mean, this is the same company that had shirts wrapped in their logo bag in DAD and had the dinner jacket in CR is a similarly logoed suit bag so its not as if they are particularly discrete.
I do, however, agree that if i was absolutely forced to guess who made the shirts i would guess brioni - but i was just hoping not to have to guess:)

Okay, to qualify, the shirt(s) I bought were from the "normal" Brioni range. I was not shown/offered/had seen larger collars.
However, what I am really trying to communicate is - IF we can tell it's Brioni by its collar style now, WHY haven't our "experts" told us this before?

There are many different collar styles offered by Brioni and T&A, not just the 'normal' version. You can't tell alone by the collar style obviously, but as certain members have been told by Brioni and Turnbull & Asser that they were Brioni (I myself was told by T&A that the shirts are Brioni in DAD and CR), and they have the taller collar, its safe to assume that they are ducks

Asp,
i didnt realize that someone from brioni HAD confirmed that they made the shirts in CR - i must have missed it...that is certainly getting around the area of overwhelming circumstantial evidence in my mind. thanks

Not completely sure it has been confirmed by Brioni to our "members", though.
That's why. ASP 9mm, we are "going mad"!

Sorry, I have so many off-forum conversations about this subject and the firearms and props used that I thought it was posted somewhere on here too. Brioni in Bond Street have confirmed that it was their shirts used also. Again we have employee recommendations here, but the evidence mounts and mounts. I'm sure that a couple of people here can put their finger on the pattern for you too. Send up the bat-signal

thanks for that - no worries:)
true, anothe salesperson but now its 2 independent retail brands (one of which is actually denying involvement) so i would have to think this is pretty indicative. always better to hear from marketing or PR people on these things, i think - but it certainly seems like it must be brioni.

Thanks for the clarfication!
Now to complete the operation, I'll endeavour to buy a couple in their London flagship store in December...
Colours, gang? White with a self-stripe, or narrow pinstripe? Pale blue with similar stripe?
Give me help on the colours, and I'll report on the success of my purchases.

In addition to the solid blue shirt at the end, i think you are on the right track. the train scene appeared to be a white background with a very subtle, thin stripe (it may actually have been clustered strips but id have to look again). the casino royale arrival (in the car with vesper) shirt was outstanding in my eye. it appeared to be an extremely soft light blue background again with very narrow stripes (again, possibly clusted) - that shade of blue could be very difficult to find, indeed!
good luck on the collar selection and you find out any more info from them please let us know!
