Nice article, Andy. Sounds like both writer and director are taking a serious approach to the film, and I'm anxious to see what they'll cook up.

Six months to get the script into shape...once again, sounds like a bit more than a 'polish.' Interesting about the construction site chase being Campbell's baby, and the stairwell fight coming from Haggis.

When they say #22 will 'come on the heels' of CR, do you suppose we're picking right up with the interrogation of the freshly-shot Mr. White on the steps?

Very exciting...I've just looked at the calendar, and Forster begins working full-time on CR in just a few weeks! B-)

    Great article, Andy! Thanks!

Makes you wonder if they actually pay Purvis and Wade money?

Six months of polish and I'd say about all that would be left of the P&W script would be the cover.

Prehaps P&W are really Paparazzi with an extensive collection of Blackmail photos.

DAD proved they are not scriptwriters!

Interesting article. I think the way Haggis and Forster are talking about Bond 22 bodes very well for the film. It does look increasingly like they are heading in a similar direction to CR.

I'm hoping "character-driven" equals "thriller," but I've yet to see that comparison made by TPTB.

I'm glad to hear that Haggis said that he wouldn't describe it as a direct continuation fo Casino Royale, and that although it is "right on the heels of CR" it will stand on its own. I've been nervous about the whole "direct continuation" thing lately and am glad to hear that Bond 22 will have a chance of standing on it s own.

I've no worries about #22 standing on its own---Bond films have always done so---but I'm really stoked about the idea of a potential three-picture arc that flows from one to the next! There'll be no shortage of backstory 'tie-ins,' such as the video message recorded by Vesper before her death, etc.; I fully expect that those who've never seen CR (or those who saw it, and simply didn't like it :)) ) will have an opportunity to enjoy #22...

    Or not :)
