CR DVD: the Big Bad Edition

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet:

"In other Bond news, the 'Ultimate Edition' DVD of last year's "Casino Royale" is in the works at last. The three-disc set will include almost all of the deleted scenes cut out from the film and will be released mid-late 2008."

I wouldn't be surprised if much of it concerned Eva Green's "dirty feet" and her lack of wardrobe!!! ;%

    Can't Wait! :)

Yup yup yup yup yup. Really looking forward to seeing the deleted Vesper scenes, that's the core of the film for me, that relationship.

    Great news. {[]

That is great news. Let's hope they allow the viewer to watch the film with the deleted stuff restored. A six-hour cut of Casino Royale would be OK by me.

There's a list of stuff we figured out was missing from the film (either from the script or bits we've seen in behind-the-scenes shots, the trailer and photos), and while not quite six hours worth (!) it did add up to quite a bit. I'm hoping the full version of the pre-credits fight will be there.

    hahahaha.

I wouldn't count on an extended cut of the film. There wouldn't be a big enough audience to make the work worth the time. And I get the feeling most people involved in this film are pretty happy with the version that hit theaters. This will be making-of overkill if you ask me.
It's all right. It's quite all right, really. She's having a rest. We'll be going on soon. There's no hurry, you see. We have all the time in the world.

mid 2008? Im guessing late 2008 - so that they can tie it in with the theatrical release of Bond 22.

Be a good way of whetting the appetite for Bond 22. They could put features or a trailer for that on as well.

Somewhere I have audio cassettes of Bond Movies, recorded off the TV, Individual VHS Tapes, a set of VHS tapes, Individual DVDs, a set of DVDs a copy of CR67 and NSNA in both VHS and DVD, and of course CR'06 DVD!

I was thinking of getting the CR'06 blue-ray, and add to that the Ultimate CR'06 .......

    Glub, Glub,

Pretty soon you'll find me at the bottom of the elevator shaft with Vesper, only I'll be drowning in media.

In the meantime, just make my paychecks out to "Eon Productions Ltd."

I really find it annoying that each new film that is released doesn't fit in with the other's so we have to wait for a big boxset but I'll be staying with my UE's for quiet some time.

I'd like to see him explaining the contents of his luggage after a tear-gas cartridge explodes in the customs guy's face. (I know, different film :) )

I am with you agent 7289!

I too recorded audio tapes off the TV in the 1980s. Then I recorded all the movies onto VHS, bought VHS movies (remember the blue boxes?) from 2nd hand charity shops when I was skint at college. Then had the VHS boxed set, then the DVD boxed tin set now the DVD attache case! Phew!

I obviously have the CR 2 disc edition and would be well up for a Director's cut...bring it on!

Anyone else got any news on this?

I snagged my copy of CR (2 discs) on DVD for $5 out of the bargain bin. If you don't want to shell out more for a better edition – don't. I wait until the editions come out that I want, then buy those. So I bought the special editions of SW on DVD. I've not needed any since. I like CR more these days than SW (gasp!), so buying it twice doesn't bother me any. Plus, you can pass on some CR goodness to unbelievers. LOL

I must admit, Inever bought the original DVD release because I just knew there would be a big whistles and bells release eventually. I did rent the movie a couple of times after seeing it at the Cinema though, so maybe this is a false economy!

It's good I found this thread. This site is so great for always talking about what I've had in recent ponderance. I'll hold still a little longer for this mammoth thing to unfold itself. {:)

The new three disc edition and extras have been announced over at MI6:

    http://www.mi6.co.uk/news/index.php?itemid=6038

June 18 release in France but no word about anywhere else. Hopefully it reaches the US about that same time.

Looks like the Region 1 (USA, Canada) release date will be just a little bit earlier at 3 June 2008 - http://commanderbond.net/article/4971

Really excited about the new flood of special features--hopefully we'll get loads of commentaries!

No official announcement about that yet, but I think it'd be a pretty safe bet to say it's coming as well.

I'm starting to worry that this 3-disk think isn't happening on 3 June afterall. It's only a couple of weeks away and still isn't listed on Amazon.
