I'm starting to worry that this 3-disk think isn't happening on 3 June afterall. It's only a couple of weeks away and still isn't listed on Amazon.
It's not, the release will coincide with QOS in September/October
That sucks It's totally logical...but it sucks.

A $40 tag for the Blue Ray is going to really p**s me off if it shows up in the stores at that price.
I really am looking forward to the Director Commentary and the deleted scenes. But have to say I getting sick of the continual "upgrades" targeted to continually unload money from my pocket.
It would be nice if they would at least give buyers who have the other editions a rebate.
But who's to complain? I haven't seen armed soldiers forcing people to buy re-issued DVD's - yet!
Sure, I mean they've got all the deleted scenes from the Ultimate Editions on there I understand. The Sammy Davis Jr stuff in DAF, for instance, the stuff from the GE pts.
High Def Digest has a story on the BluRay exclusives for the CR re-release. Among other things, there will be a running picture in picture commentary by Campbell and Wilson.
The suggested price for the BluRay is $38.95; that would suggest it will sell in the neighborhood of $25-$27 on Amazon.com.
I leached off friends and family sneaks at watching Casino Royale. It hasn't been easy, but I knew this was coming, so I kept my patience. (It also helps that I'm usually broke.)
These are the complete features on the 3 disc, The art work is different for the DVD as well here to see the artwork.
- The Road to Casino Royale
- Crew Commentary
- Second Commentary
- Deleted Scenes
- Paying Taxes
- Rescue & Recovery
- Old Boyfriend?
- James Bond in the Bahamas
- The Art of the Freerun
- Death in Venice
- Catching a Plane: From Storyboard to Screen
- Filmmaker Profiles
- Storyboard Sequence: Freerun Chase
- Ian Fleming: The Secret Road to Paradise
- Becoming Bond documentary
- James Bond: For Real Documentary
- Bond Girls are Forever (2006)
- Chris Cornell ‘You Know My Name’ Music Video
I had to search high and low for this DVD today. Tesco, Woolworths and WHSmiths were all missing it (although Woolworths sold the Blu-Ray edition).
Luckily, I eventually found it in HMV.
The packaging is gorgeous - this is one of the best-presented DVD's I've ever seen. As for the features, well I'm slightly disappointed. Too much on Fleming and the Bahamas - there are two documentaries seemingly dedicated to exactly the same thing. The deleted scenes are interesting, but only for a single viewing. The best feature has got to be the two commentaries - I'll enjoy listening to them.
Yes, I only saw the BluRay. Not sure I will bother getting this now- I've seen the deleted scenes. Much more interested in the Indy DVD- that sounds like a proper set of features!

I bought mine yesterday at Best Buy (the 3-disc DVD edition)...and I must disagree with those who found it disappointing. The packaging and artwork are fantastic. The third disc has a lot of good stuff on it, IMO, enough to justify buying the film again ( )...my consolation is that I can give my old version away to someone deserving...
I particularly enjoyed the documentary about the history of CR's trek to the silver screen, but I found all of it more than worthwhile. I watched the film last night with Martin Campbell and Michael G. Wilson's commentary, and found it highly entertaining and informative---it was particularly cool to learn that bits of Reilly: Ace of Spies (of which Campbell directed several episodes) were filmed precisely where we first meet Mr. White and Le Chiffre, in an ostensible 'jungle' setting
Perhaps this extra expenditure can't be justified for more casual fans...but I'm not one of those ;%

I agree. For fans of CR, this is a must have. The extras may sound boring upon looking at the titles, but watching them is something different.
The comparison of the bahamas locales between the 60's and today are incredible, and the fact that several major shoots in CR are literally metres away from recognisable locations shown in many Bond movies is soooo cool.
I urge everyone to go and buy this disc and to watch it all. You will not be disapointed. I was gutted when I looked at the extras listings on the packaging. But viewing it has completely blown me away. It's great for those of us who frequent the M&C forum too. LINDY HEMMING COMMENTATES!!!!!
Packinging is bloody superb. Content is Bloody superb. I might even have to relegate FRWL to my #2 spot :v
I am aching to buy this, but none of the shops here in SA seem to have it yet. I hope that they are going to get it otherwise I will be very sad! I will have to order from overseas and spend lots of money and wait for a long time . The set sounds great, so whatever happens, it will be worth the money/wait.

Is it the same documentary that was on the original DVD release? I'm debating whether I should shell out the $$ for this or just be content with what I have. I'm also pondering if EON/Sony's going to pull this "double dip" trick on QOS.

Disc 2 of the 3-disc set is exactly like the disc 2 in the previous version. All the new extras are on disc 3---except for the commentaries, of course, which are on disc 1 with the film itself.

...and disc three is packed full of stuff. It will consume a whole evening and nights viewing. I planned to watch the film after watching the extras, but didn't have the time.
