GoldenEye soundtrack

I came across the GoldenEye soundtrack today! It was only £3.00 so I decided to buy it... I think it's fantastic. My favourite tracks are "The GoldenEye Overture", "We Share The Same Passions" and "Dish Out Of Water". Who else has got the soundtrack and what are your favourite tunes?

"Dish Out of Water" is a very underrated track. The "A Good Squeeze" portion is very animalistic and heart pounding while "The Antennae" is amazingly evil with its synthesized brass/strings sound.

"Ladies First" is a good fun romp, it even hints at the Bond theme at some portions.

"A Pleasant Drive in St. Petersburg" is like a Bond Theme Remix with an odd but effective Russian choir and cool sounding synths.

"A Little Surprise for You" is a sleek and cool, tune at the beginning then turns into a dirge-like Russian march with that eerie choir chanting away in the background.

"The Severnaya Suite" is a very Barry-esque track with an uneasy rendition of the main romantic theme and toward the end it turns into a more triumphant version when Natalya finds the sled dogs.

Those are my favorites, along with the ones Mickles mentioned and Walther P99 mentioned. Overall, I like them all.

The GoldenEye Overture is excellent. One of my favorite tracks in Bons soundtrack history!

Most people hate the Goldeneye soundtrack, I actually liked it. As a child whenever I heard "Run Shoot And Jump" I always thought it was an awesome and dramatic song that really fit the action well, so that is by far my favorite., and the reason I bought the soundtrack in the firs place. Whispering Statues is my second favorite.

HATED IT. For me, the "serra noise" was the thing that will forever ruin this movie for me in the Canon, much like having Halle Berry in DAD.

Only redeeming spot was the Altman cue used to replace the noise during the tank chase. And that end title garbage. To this day, GE remains the only Bond I will not watch thru the end credits, or at the very least, definitely not with the sound turned up.

Still, Michel LeGrand likes it--finally a Bond score that makes NSNA sound good.

Agreed with 100% - except for the lovely Halle (unlike GE's score, Ms Berry wasn't the worst feature of that movie).

While it may not be traditional 007 I loved the feel that the score gave-really made me think of post-Cold War mid-90's. It is very sly in its use of the Bond sonic legacy instead of going for the fanfare jugular in moments of action.
Fav track: definitely the Goldeneye Overture. We Share the Same Passions-Bond music with an actual feeling of glamorous emptiness.
The tank music in the film is great, should be on the soundtrack as an extra.
I cannot say enough about the Parodi Fair trailer music.
One thing however, why does the score Serra did for Leon the Professional sound extremely similar to Goldeneye in spots?
Hate "The Experience of Love" though.
NSNA was a forgettable score except for a moment or two. The upbeat jazz worked for what it was, but Goldeneye will always blow it out of the water.

At some points in GE, Serra's music was just terribly out of place. For example the entire scene at the Casino, the music was so somber and dramatic for something so innocent taking place. Then when the Tiger Helicopter was hijacked, what was with the overly swarthy and obnoxious music ? That moment was downplayed so badly by the music that you really don't even care what is going on.

I don't know, it just seemed to fit to me. I can see how it could be seen as out of place, but in those two scenes the score filled out the mood.

    I hate it too. Ghastly.
But I like the end credits music in NSNA (Herb Alpert trumpet solo).

Even when some people hate Serra's work, I like it. I mean, his work wasn't nowhere as good as Barry, Arnold or Newman. But his music indeed fits GoldenEye.
I love "The Experience of Love" a lot, to be honest.

Fact of the day: "The Experience of Love" is also used at the end of the film Leon which was
    scored by Serra.

I love the Goldeneye soundtrack. Not keen on his version of the tank chase which on the CD
I'm glad they changed it for then film. I have a sound mixer and used to play the N64 game with the proper sound track mixed in.

My favourite GE track ever is the music used for the trailer.

My favourite track is the whirring noise in the CD player when the GoldenEye OST disc comes to an end!

I've no idea what it's called, but my favourite track is early on in the film, and is playing when bond is talking to Xenia in the casino, and how Xenia is saying how much russia has changed after the cold war. It's so relaxing!

I love this soundtrack. I wish the gunbarrel bond theme used in this movie was on it though, outside of the bits and pieces used in the tank chase.

My favorites are Fatal Weakness, I love the mysterious feel about it, as well as A Little Surprise.

GoldenEye still looks good and sounds good. Does not sound outdated at all after 20 years.

Track 3 "Ladies First" is the only cringe-worthy entry.
