UK Bond Exhibition

I would love the chance to show off some of my collection at an exhibition some time and meet up with lots of fellow bond fans from these Forums. My IDEA is an event organised by fans for fans.

I hear alot about Bond events in the US, Italy and other locations but never is Scotland England or Ireland. Does anyone know of any up and coming events in the near future.

I would like you to all post some suggestions for a props exhibition like what it should have on display and unique ideas for guests and themes and obviously a BOND party like a BAFTA night were we could all have an excuse to get drunk ;)

joking aside I would love to hear some suggestions for ideas for an exhibition and possible locations etc?

thanks hope to hear from you all.

A world Bond events would be OUTSTANDING

I'm keen, but it's a massive amount of effort, would require a team effort, and a lot of work...

    not to mention funding...

If you're really serious I have a few ideas...

BTW there is the IF exhibition at IWM next year..I'm sure you saw the thread on here earlier in year...

Some years ago (1990/1), Walsall Museum & Art Gallery organised the first "Peoples Show", where locals showed off their collections, part of my Bond collection was included in the second event (1992).

It then went Nationwide with Museums &/or Art Galleries mounting their own local shows. You could therefore approach your local Museum or Art Gallery and see if they were interested in putting on a show with your collection.

i could do this with many of the art galleries and exhibition halls close to me but how many of my fellow bond fans on this forum could get to Glasgow for a bond exhibition I know a bond exhibition would pack a serious crowd. But THanks

It gives me an Idea. I will aproach some next year.

In 1997, while TND was filming around the world I attended a fantastic exhibition devoted to Bond at The Royal Armouries museum in Leeds. It was a great day out but I have never heard it repeated anywhere. With the centenary of Fleming's birth in 2008 I would love to see something done again.

I recently found the negatives (before digital cameras!) from the photos, and I will get them reprinted soon to post on the site.

I visited that exhibition too - it was one of the best I've seen.
Alas I didn't take a camera as it said that you weren't allowed to take photos - I must have been the only person that took a blind bit of notice of that rule X-(

I'm almost certain that that exhibition moved on to London and a couple of European countries too - I'm sure Germany was one.

You can post the pictures with pleasure - don't really think we have a 'special section' for them though. You could just add the photos here or contact SiCo via the pm system if you wish to do something more with them.

It did travel and then was more or less reincarnated as an interactive exhibit that traveled to a number of science museums.

As to something celebrating Flemming's centennial, there's a separate thread regarding an exhibit now in the planning stages for for the Imperial War Museum.

That's right, I saw that exhibition a couple of times in Bradford - what a jet-setting life I lead :))

And I DID take my camera for that one !!

I never saw the sign about not being able to take photos at the Leeds exhibition, honest!
I have some pictures from both exhibitions on my website, Leeds in 1997 and the Science Museum, London in 2002.
