You people really need to grow up.
"important amounts of private money" "an exclusive club"
who do you think you are? The lot of you should get over yourselves, really.
It is completely reasonable to ask for the name of the supplier or the fabric since I am not able to afford the shirt and these people refuse to release either or help out the other people can't afford it either. All so a few people can feel "special and exclusive" If you need a shirt to make you feel exclusive or to add meaning to your life, I am truly sorry.
I did not ask for it for free. Excuse me for asking and making a substantial offer. Is that a crime? Does that hurt someone? You are an elitist moron.
Your analogy doesn't work either. Most dealerships will order parts for you if you give them money.
Please, don't come to the US. We have enough idiots over here. Stay in Europe.
I will wait for all your whiny, witty, condescending remarks.

I have only expressed my opinion in a direct and polite way.

Well, I am sure, all this qualifies to be direct and polite:
...You guys are being really stubborn and unreasonable...
...shame on you when you could make more shirts....
    ...responded in a condescending manner....
    ...your quip about the salesperson...
... bordering on being a jackass....
    ...You guys are hypocrites..
    ...not some bozo like you...
    ah, and I almost forgot:
    ...You are an elitist moron...
...Please, don't come to the US. We have enough idiots over here. Stay in Europe.
I will wait for all your whiny, witty, condescending....

I think, that you took the occasion to make good friends here.

To my opinion, the grade of adultness is displayed in the moderate tone of the replies, you have received so far.

The only rude thing, you have faced so far was to be compared with a jerk, shame on you, Nightscooter ;)

I see now, that you are starting to insult me in person and nationally, I will fail in following your expectations to reply in the same tone.

    Kind regards

So its ok for you to sell her a dress in the fabric?

Oooooh, no reason for jealousy here, I am sure that you can convince them to get a dress done for yourself as well - and a matching pantyhose... :v

Yes indeedy. Time to get back on subject. Please folks if we get any nutters posting in this thread again, just ignore them. We have three pages of uselessness (often quite funny, I admit), but uselessness nonetheless. Remember our elite status and rise above it all {[]

Right, fellows, keep it civilised. Back on topic sharpish or there will be some posts and users deleted. If you want to make personal comments - and I sincerely hope you don't - then restrict them to PMs. Much appreciated.

Having just read the last few pages, I would just like to say thanks to the guys that have gone to great lengths to make this shirt available, and that as a new member on this site I feel very lucky and grateful to be able to have been allowed to put my name forward for one

Jon you have really lowered teh tone of this thred and your making some crazy comments to other members and obvioulsy getting a rise out of them.

I think even if you come up with the money im going to have some reservations selling you a shirt at this point. Interestingly I cant seem to remember the website that sells similar fabric!

and teh dress thing was a joke so no we are no thypocrites.

Hey guys, I asked this question a few pages ago, but it got buried by Mister Personality...Is there a 'drop dead' date on the horizon yet? I'm not on the latest list yet, but I'm trying to get there. How much time do I have?

    Hi Guys,

I have followed this thread with great interest from day one and I must say I am amazed at the diligence that you guys showed to get this project off the ground.
I would love to have a shirt, but I cannot justify the amount of money for a shirt that I would probably wear once or twice, and I doubt the wife would be seen dead with me. That doesn't mean that I haven't gone a little mad over the years for all things Bond, I bought myself a Planet Ocean, I had the original Goldeneye Seamaster. I have the Sunspel polo and tee shirts and I am currently waiting for my Bahamma's arrival shirt to arrive from Magnoli.
I suppose what I am trying to say is that we are all capable of making our own decisions on the purchases that we make, but just because for what ever reason you cannot justify the purchase it is out of order to berate and moan about it and worse insult the very people that at least gave the chance to own that item.
Well done guys for getting this shirt made, I can understand it must of been a complete nightmare and I really do look forward to seeing pictures posted!

    Sorry rant over

Hi guys, just wanted to check in again to see when the last possible date to be added to the list for a shirt is?
Is there any idea on when the shirts will be shipped out to those who buy one?

Thanks to all who made this endeavor possible.

this is going to be one of my last replies on here, as I have grown tired of arguing with people, and i am sure you are too.
I received a message from a fellow member on here today that spoke to me. He said he suggested lowering the price when the 300 was announced but he was shot down. He also said he doesnt understand why you are unwilling to drop the price to sell more shirts to more people.
now, you may think i am an idiot or stupid, and that is fine, thats your opinion. but my orignial intent was never to come on here to rile everyone up or **** people off. i wanted to buy the shirt, but the price was too high for me, and I felt the need to fight for a better offer. rethinking it, 300 might be ok for a tailored shirt of this rare fabric, but why cant you offer an untailored version for cheaper for those of us who cant afford the 300 but still would love to have a shirt? and those who want a professionally tailored shirt can pay the 300. Is that such a horrible thing to suggest?
i think i speak for many people on here who expressed interest at a lower price early on, but are afraid to speak up in fear of being alienated even more. if you want to berate me, go ahead, but just know that you have excluded fans for no good reasons. all i was asking for was an alternative for fans who dont have $300 to spend on a shirt but would still like one. you guys need to lighten up.

who said I was joking?... :007)

Actually, I'm in total agreement...we need to move on, without Mr Tremaine.

Now, Simon should be about to issue a website for collecting people's measurements. I know he's trying to get the tailor's STANDARD MEASUREMENTS for a small, medium, large and x-large...these will be posted as soon as he gets them.

Re; DC's details, we're still hopeful.

Re: payments, i've decided to take paypal and cheque....final details will be posted closer to getting the shirts made...I don't expect anyone to pay too far in advance of getting their shirt.

    Hope all else clear...

Off the bed to do some bwahh---ing... :s

The reason that a non-tailored shirt was not offered is simply because to secure the deal on the fabric, it had to be agreed that the shirts would be produced by the method offered. The suppliers of the original fabric were very concerned about alot of things before reprinting the material and it took months of negotiation to secure it in the quantity acquired and with all of the caveats in place.

In short, this is the only option available to offer people who wanted the shirt, and that is what must be stuck too as part of the agreement.

I hope you can see that what has been negotiated here is akin to asking Turnbull and Asser to supply the same material as used in the dress shirts. You can be sure that they would not supply this without the whole package and tailoring being agreed upon first, and they certainly would not allow the material to used in a cheaper non-tailored version.

Many pages ago (i think it was about page 12-13?..) when we'd set the final price, I agreed to make this a limited offer for at least a year or so...I can't remember the precise details (:s) but i'll be happy to stick to them...please trawl back through the pages to find it...sorry but i'm off on holiday (it's my wedding anniversary) and i'm under orders not to spend any more time of the computer!..?:)

Re: ETA, we're hoping the first shirts will be available in time for the Fleming exhibition..what a way to unveil them!..
  • JonTremaineJonTremaine Posts: 19MI6 Agent
if you are making a dress, and cannot make an untailored version, that is not right. thats a double standard.
  • EagleEagle UKPosts: 261MI6 Agent
I would also like a like a standard, Medium shirt, un-tailored. That said, I'm willing to pay the cost for a tailored shirt but how do I instruct them to tailor a standard, Medium?.....

    Seriously.

standard sizes to come...I too wuill be ordering a medium AND a taiored...betcha the medium fits me better...crazy I know but that is often the way it rolls...as well I DO hope they consider a bicep measurement.
  • MisterMan57MisterMan57 Posts: 67MI6 Agent
Hopefully it would not be necessary, but just in case there is an issue with fit or we are unsatisfied with the garment, will there be an opportunity to return the shirt for a full refund if returned within the first week or two?

Paul, I know you said you hope to get them shipped out by the Fleming exhibition, but do you have a date for when that is?

    Thank you.
  • sruzgarsruzgar Welcome to ScotlandPosts: 1,468MI6 Agent
I will try to get standard sizes from them but it will not be any cheaper for them to make a standard size as it would to get one in YOUR size so im baffled why anyone wants this but I shall enquire none the less!

I'm probably going to get one in Craig size for framing, and one in Asp9mm size for wearing. It's so tempting to buy a third so I can distress and ruin it with builders sand for framing. That would be cool.

I am in along the same line - one in DC size or close to it for framing, and one for wearing.
