Hello, I'll opt for paypal as and when payment is requested.

Re the names in the shirts - can you confirm if this will be our own names or user ID's? - much prefer the former {[]

I was wondering if the geniuses behind this project, had considered an encore? Any more potential projects like this?

    Chaps

sorry for the silence, as DZ says, life gets in the way of fun from time to time...

it can't have escaped anyone's attention that a major US investment bank went belly up - and caused me quite a lot of, well let's call it, irritation.. :s

anyway, yes we're going ahead with this, and I promise to put some momentum into it this week...

Simon is about to release his web-masterpiece, where-in you can all put your measurements...

I'll put up another update soon...

oh, and thx eagle, for the act of levitation..

can't have this thread falling off the front page!...

this really has been a team effort..

The moment you have all been waiting for!!! We are ready to start taking your measurements for your shirt.

You can submit them here http://shirts.eh30.com they will be sent directly to me and once Paul has received your payment we will sent the measurements to the shirt maker who will promptly make your shirt.

With respects to the label with your name would you prefer your AJB screen name or your real name?

    Thanks
    Simon

I'd prefer my real name to my screen name on my shirt.

Also, has a decision been made as to how to get payment to Paul?

    Thanks guys.

    Dave.

Suppose we just Paypal to Paul's email address given in his profile on ajb?

What if I don't want my name in it? Don't fret - I'm not planning on selling: after all, James Bond never had any name tags or initials in any of his clothing (literary version, anyway).

And another quick question, Simon - if I give "true" measurements - ie. the tape-measured chest, neck and back sizes - will the shirt be made to THESE sizes because if so, the shirt will be damned tight! Or will the shirt maker add the appropriate extra inches to the meaurements given?

I think we all should know as most of us here will either ahve bought standard sizes or have been measured for them by a professional tailor who will have calculated the correct clothing sizes from personal measurement he ahd taken himself.

Clarification wouldn't go amiss, particularly for those intending to copy from an existing shirt they are comfortable with the fit of.

    Simon:
Do we have DC size? approximately?
Do we have standard sizes (S, M, L etc.) - if so what are their measurements - I preferred to pick a standard size that best fit me than to try to do a custom one without actually seeing the shirt maker.
    Thank you!

How about bicep measurement? Or is that standard from shirt to shirt? Just thought I'd bring it up since I thought the subject had been talked about before but I didn't see it on the form.

Any tailor worth his salt will take the measurements and use them to make a shirt that fits appropriately.

    Just waiting for payment info.

    ^ Appropriate fit?

How are they being tailored? Slim fit? Tailored fit? Standard? Casual? Comfort?

I can submit my sizes (and payment) but I just want a standard, Medium sized shirt! lol

    Any clues?

    :)

I just sent my measurements through the website. I also like the idea of having my real name in the shirt, instead of my screen name. Let me know how to send Paul payment. Thanks.

I have just sent my order stating D. Craig in all fields as I would prefer his size. I also asked for D.C.s name on the label, if that is not possible, I would also prefer my real name.

I suppose the conclusion from that, gang, is NOT to take measurements from an existing shirt but take true body measurements and trust to the shirt manufacturers?

I do think we need definate clarity as the deal is quite rightly on a no returns basis.

Don't take any measurements from a shirt. Get naked and get someone to measure you. The measurements are simple to take with help. trust in the tailor after you have given these measurements, they know what they are doing. Don't be tempted to add or subtract a half inch as you see fit and don't do guess-timates. A simple and accurate measurement exactly as in Simons guide will be enough.

Okay, last pratish question - do you want the whole chest measurement i.e the circumference from front to back, or just the measurement across the front?

Last time I had a shirt made, T & A did ALL the measurements ;) - and I'm sure at this price we ALL want to get the exact measurements correct.

Whole chest measurement all the way around. Or yes, the circumference.

I HOPE everyone has read this because - without sounding stupid - Simon's diagram doesn't indcate this despite it seeming logical the whole measurement is required.

Thanks for the clarification - I don't want anyone getting a very narrow shirt!

Perhaps, Simon, you might want to put a cleared note on the diagram - on a no returns basis, EVERYONE wants 100% satisfaction, and ease getting to that with the correct measurements.

Waist, neck and chest are full circumference measurements. Only the two back measurements are not.

OK I have updated the site to specify that we need the FULL CIRCUMFRENCE of your neck, chest and waist. I thought those would have been self explanitory but I guess not ;)

Still no confirmation on DC's measurements or standard sizes. I think I mentioned this before but all the work they do is custom so they may not have standard sizes.

The majority of us are Bond fans, Simon. We haven't had the opportunity to do the "send my tailor up" bit. Nor, at $400 on a no returns basis, do we want any mistakes.:o

I hope this "No returns" policy doesn't include any flaws that might exist with the shirt? Not that there would be, but anything's possible. I would think this company would at least stand behind their work if the fault was on thier end.
  • MisterMan57MisterMan57 Posts: 67MI6 Agent
When will we know if they can do standard sizes?
Someone else asked if they can do a shirt without a nametage, is this possible? I would prefer not to have one.

    How is payment working?

    Thanks
