Sorry guys, due to unexpected house move, I will no longer be able to buy the shirt that I had put my name down for (I never submitted any measurements though)
  • Roland007Roland007 United KingdomPosts: 58MI6 Agent
May possibly be able to step in on this if the above withdrawal causes a problem. Let me know !!

Wheels are in motion, pictures to come within the next 24 hours. Stay tuned, no one has been forgotten, but personal lives, jobs and the nightmare of it all have all figured into the time delays. Rest assured, this will never be repeated, the hassle has been too great. Paul is an absolute saint for getting this moving and Simon, well, what can you say about Simon. He makes a great model..... Git!!!!!

Is the measurement site still up? I am still in for a shirt. When I try to go there, it is not working, says it is under construction. I held off on putting in the measurements way back when because I was desperately hoping for standard sizes and I knew it would be a while before the shirts would go into production, so I didn't want to send them in early and take the chance of having the measurements get lost or forgotten.
    Thanks guys

I have to resubmit my size earlier and I hope we have a chance to reconfirm everything before production. Thanks

Oh, I almost forgot B-) Here's a pic of the (almost) finished product, no buttons, but the buttons are in stock now...

I will confirm the sizes given to those who have requested it. The shirts will soon be good to go as soon as I confirm shipping costs.

Does this mean there are standard sizes or I am I misinterpreting that statement? I am in still in for a shirt, I have just been holding out on measurements.
    thanks

There are no standard sizes as these can be misinterpreted from country to country, talor to tailor and person to company to tailor to person. In short, it is impossible to make an international standard size. All shirts will be bespoke based on measurements given.

Alright, it was 75 degrees in PA today...perfect for this shirt! I keep checking my mail box for this shirt and my little orphan annie decoder ring...which will show first?

The final shirt is a thing to behold and I thank all those that made this happen.

PS: The collars look HUGE! :o I hope they're being corrected.

I am having trouble accessing the measurements site. Is there another way I can send them in?
I have been out of the loop for a while, has there been any decisions on payment?
    Thanks

I've got three yards of the fabric sitting next to me and the color is just like the color corrected/outside shot of Craig. I wouldn't worry a bit.

That collar on the other hand does look kinda big. I'm guessing it's the angle and the close distance to the camera throwing it off.

Simply take the material, which is left over after your M-idget order :p

Greetings from LA....the reason i've been rather silent on the boards for a months or so...

I've relocated from London for a few months, and as you can imagine, my life has been a little upside down...

anyway, for those that have registered their frustration at our "slow butts", to borrow a clarky phrase (poor Simon has been immersed in a new job too...mmm...letting work and airmiles continue to seperate those souls from THEIR shirts ..... shocking... ) I humbly apologise....

anyway, some progress has indeed been made....as you can see...

    IMGA07561.jpg

    IMGA07571.jpg

    IMGA07581.jpg

I hope you will agree that this is a nice representation.

I wanted to post pics of the finished shirt (including buttons) because, as my old dad used to say, you can't please all the people any of the time....there is always one...

Please take time to study it, and reassure yourselves that it's how you expect it to look.

Provided it passes muster, we'll move onto payment, provided everyone has filled in the measurements site.
For those having difficulty, you could PM them direct to SRuzgar instead....but si will take a look at the site incase the moths have gotten at it....

    Now on the collar....

Yes on first glance it looks large(r) relative to that well known shot...

But I can assure you it's the same size, give or take a sowing needle or two...

it's just that we've taken the pics with the collar open and splayed (did he really use that word?... ) while the shot is of a more closed, folded collar....

try it at home with a work shirt....it's amazing how the eye deceives...

    maybe this will convince....

    29052008-1.jpg

And for a bit of fun, having seen the shirt on a dummy (sorry simon) and a headless mannequin, this is how it looks on one of the DC heads that were discussed on a previous thread...

    DSC01095.jpg

I hope these help, and appreciate the patience...

Knowing that you are all dealing with an anal bunch of perfectionists (Paul, Simon, JD, and me) I want to assure you the THREE C's are correct: Color, Collar, and Cut. There has been a robust amount of QA on this project and the button "hunt" speaks to that. Ordinary buttons COULD have been used on this shirt but everyone involved INSISTED on the same type of buttons used in the movie. No corners, nor collars, have been cut. In ths shot of Craig above his head is slightly turned and his collar is up a bit, taking up the slack of the collar size.
  • NightshooterNightshooter In bed with SolitairePosts: 2,917MI6 Agent
The collar looks huge in the photo with Craig as well, so it looks perfect to me. You guys did awesome.
  • David SchofieldDavid Schofield EnglandPosts: 1,528MI6 Agent
The collar looks huge, particularly with the fitted nature of the shirt. Sort of 70s disco fever!

However, with the bona fides been given here by some very credible people, I'm happy with the accuracy.

Well done, guys. Now thoroughly in "can't wait" mode.

Yep, looks ood to me. I can't wait either. Good job guys.

Once my shirt is in hand I will be taking pictures of it in outside light with collar crisp...but I would expect whoever gets one to post pics! Stay tuned!

Does the shirt have the adjustable button-tabs at the bottom of the sleeves?
  • TALLMANTALLMAN Cornwall, United KingdomPosts: 69MI6 Agent
wow, very impressive. Its got my approval already. How long roughly before you start accepting first payment?
  • MisterMan57MisterMan57 Posts: 67MI6 Agent
Very impressive, good work guys. Love the Craig mannequin. You should put him out on your porch.

Just noticed a major(for me anyway) flaw. The pocket and back yoke on the screen shirt are lined up so the patterns match. Obviously we can't see the back on the repro but the pocket is definitely not lined up at all. Makes me wonder about the back.

Probably wouldn't have noticed it but on every tropical shirt I've had the pocket fabric lines up perfectly with the body fabric.

Probably an easy fix considering the repeat of the pattern but I'd have expected more for $180 worth of tailoring for a short sleeved shirt. Please don't take this as a bash against you guys at all.

edit: Also, someone with blue ray and a big screen may want to check the placket and arm bands for the same thing.
  • DEVONKNIGHTDEVONKNIGHT CanadaPosts: 100MI6 Agent
I agree with you. Hopefully this can be corrected. Now is the time for for everyone involved with this project to voice any opinions or concerns before they start making the shirts so it can still be rectified. It's good you noticed Kittlemeier.
  • KittlemeierKittlemeier U.S.Posts: 432MI6 Agent
Just checked the hi res photo that's been around(same as the one on the last page for color contrast but bigger) and the placket should also repeat the pattern.

I would assume that the other side of the front of the shirt should line up also but there's no way to confirm as the shirt was never fully buttoned.

The arm bands and button tabs on the arm bands didn't match though.
