Let's not dismiss Turkey so easily. They played an awesome game and came pretty close especially being undermanned. As for getting to Euro 2008, I seem to recall that Germany had a pretty easy group with the likes of Cyprus and San Marino in qualifying for the tournament as well as a pretty easy group to get out of with Austria and Poland. So let's cut Turkey a break, shall we? :D

Well, the group from England had giants like Estonia and Andorra. ;)

Quite true, but you would agree that Turkey has been probably the most entertaining team to watch at Euro 2008 and it has provided more than a few thrills and surprises? Would you also agree that if they had a full complement of players, the game may have been quite different? Also, I'm interested in your take on the Kazim-Richards injury at the end of the game which eventually ended up being the winning play for Germany. Why was play continued? I was under the impression that fair play would dictate the ball being kicked out and the player attended to or am I out of touch?
Anyway, best of luck to Germany and to which other team makes it. It will certainly be a good show. B-)

I have to admit, that the match against Turkey has been terrible from the german team. It seems to get common, that all the "big" teams have their problems, when they are the favourites in the match. It seems to put them chains on their feet and give the other players wings. I recall the last Netherlands matches and they have been my favourites by far judging from the first match. I was not too impressed by Turkey, but they have a great spirit to never give up and 2 crazy goalkeepers :D
Would you also agree that if they had a full complement of players, the game may have been quite different??

I disagree. I think, with their best team, Germany would not have been the high favourites, which may have changed a lot in both team's minds

Also, I'm interested in your take on the Kazim-Richards injury at the end of the game which eventually ended up being the winning play for Germany. Why was play continued? Disagree.I have been watching the mentioned scene here:
    http://www.zdf.de/ZDFmediathek/content/9602?inPopup=true

How often do you watch Football? A scene like this happens so often, he just slipped out. I can't see a reason to stop an attack in the 90th minute on this and I am sure, in the PL, noone will stop the match for something like this. And, let's not forget the not given penalty for Lahm...

Anyway, best of luck to Germany and to which other team makes it. It will certainly be a good show. B-)

Thanks, it will be hard work and hopefully a better match from both, Germany and Russia ;)

I am still a little displeased with this tailor wanting more money in order to line up the patterns on this shirt though, but if that's the way it has to be, so be it. For the extra $40, will everything line up on this shirt or will it be only certain parts? I most likely will go for the "Renoir", but only if everything lines up.

thx for being a sport devonknight, and i suspect you won't be dissappointed when ur shirt arrives and you go on ur first mission...

talking of sports, markus, i feel you owe the spainish amongst us an apology.....

as regards the match discussion above, we english have learned the 3 golden rules of international football

    1) get used to not qualifying, grasping defeat from the jaws of victory, unless someone more incompetent than you hands you a place in the tournament (or better still you offer to hold the tournament which guarantees you a place)
    2) the only way to beat the germans when the valkyrie are on their side is to employ russian linesmen, although even this ploy fails if it goes to a firing squad (otherwise known as penalties)
    3) Germans are no less good sports than anyone else these days, although the tactics of a certain goalkeeper thomas schumacher (the masher to his fans) did leave one suspecting otherwise for a few decades...

so we have germany v spain, ballack v torres, beerfest versus Paella....

i can hardly wait, except i bet every german in the office today (two's many...) that they would finish runners up ....

may the best team be proud to follow in the Immortal footsteps of those world footballing jugernauts GREECE who for another 3 days can proudly call themselves champions of europe....

Is the measurement site going to be up and running or should we PM measurements to Simon?

Just to be clear, what do we get for the $300 shirt?
It seems a little unprofessional and unethical for the tailors to charge extra so late in the game to do the shirt properly, but I commend you guys for hanging in and seeing this through.

simon is in charge of measurment collection...can u bury him under a mountain of pms pls...then he might get the site up and working...

is it me or are computer types all useless with computers?...

the $300 -yes it's as close as we can get, but no guarantee it will match up...

and as u hopefully hv guessed wr not upset with markus/bondtoys, it's just a bit of footie banter between the resigned-tobe-spectator-brits and the dictator-world-domination-obsessed germans..

    and u mk good points.....

good luck on sunday, and trust that if it comes to firing squads, quickly put the champers in the fridge - it should be appropriately chilled by the time they give you guys the tin cup....

    Hello Jonathan,

first of all rhanks for helping me in this matter. That's really kind.

You may have misunderstood some of the previous posts from my UK friends. We are really good friend and are somtimes playing around here very immaturely. Sorry, if that has led you to the conclusion, that there is a real fight going on. It is all fun and they are all great people.

So, you really have nothing to worry here.

and now I am sure, that there will be some absolutely childish responses denying to be any kind of friend of mine, don't take them seriously.

    Kind regards and thanks again

    Markus

To get this back to discussing shirts:

You all know, of course, we will need someone who makes t-shirts or t-shirt designs to make us these to wear UNDER the shirts we get:

The pants shouldn't be a problem if you can get me some more images, but the t-shirt is a bit out of our normal range of products.

Good news, i'd like to pursue this further, but would always be happier if we knew who the original maker was, for obvious copyright reasons.

kittlemier, i've replied to ur email. Please be good enough to acknowledge (as u publically challenged simon and myself above) and where can i see the rest of the email u mention above re: getting magnoli to copy other items?....
