Don't know if i can order one this late, you know i mostly collect props, this would be nice i'll have to think about it and decide soon, or maybe Simon can decide for me if he tells me it's too late to order one, you snooze you loose.:))

Great place, i regret not taking more pictures of the place, The Safe-house would be a great and the best place for a Bond gathering, no doubt about it.

Not this time Markus. I was not being pursued by any bad spies so I was able to walk out the front door unmolested.

Looking really good guys - but what about the label? I can't make it out on those pics -have you got a finished version you can post photos of?

The label in the photo is temporary pice of paper tacked to the shirt, final labeling details have still to be determined.

Will the label show the shirt makers...pehaps with a quote saying 'As worn or seen in the James Bond Movie Casino Royale or something on those lines?

Any more recent news on this. Are we likely to have these for the end of October and the release of QoS?

I'm now really keen to get mine ASAP as my (Now) fiancee and I are going to be have a JB fancy dress engagement party on 31st Oct and I'd LOVE to be able to wear mine to the event.
So come on, be cruel, how likely is it the shirts will be ready?
    :)

Any updates on this? Its been ages!
  • Asp9mmAsp9mm Over the Hills and Far Away.Posts: 7,535MI6 Agent
Alas no. Paul has not been around for ages due to the financial crisis going on around us, which will have him bound up in work 24/7. I'm afraid that we may see some further delay due to this.

I'm sure that someone will update you all on this soon.

    Gents

firstly, I'm truely sorry this has taken as long as it has...
I take full responsibility (at least since the manufacturer finally came up with the blessed buttons...when we first ok'd the buttons, I was certain we'd told them to just go ahead and order enough for 30+ shirts...well you know the rest...)

My lame excuse since I've been back in UK (since sep 1st) is that I work in finance, and it's been pretty wild for the last couple of months, especially the last 3 weeks. I've been working long hours (ASP's 24/7 is a tad exagerated...more like 17.5/6.5) and now sunday is the new monday, I rarely have time to catch up with my family lest log onto this site, or even co-ordinate the shirts...

But I have to say, the patience shown by the great majority of you has drawn guilt from my login, and I vow to get this thing going from tomorrow.

I'm told by Simon that we have all the measurements itemised in a spreadsheet, and therefore all I need to do is send it off to the manufacturer. This I will do tonight.

On payment, in view of the credit crunch, I'm going to ask those who havn't paid to do so soon...

please don't make any payments until you're contacted...the last lot caused me no end of problems with my paypal account...long story..

those who have already paid (i'll be emailling you seperately) are good to go.

finally, if we can get some of these done in time for the premiere then we'll do our best...alternatively, try leaving the shower on in the bathroom until it steams up, then don said shirt and persols...

once again, thx all for the patience...

    rgds Paul

Just keep the money safe until Paul is ready. I'm sure everyone is quite aware of the disastrous financial meltdown we are facing at the moment, and Paul is at the heart of this trying to sort it out. Good luck buddy :(

No pressure, just keep us updated as and when you can.

well, i indicated there might be an update today...

and well, it was kinda forced on me/us...

the indy affair is interesting...having only had a couple of conversations, well after lawyers :)hours, and having read the threads, first thing i'd like to say is a big thx to the few that have shown their support thus far...

hate to single out one, but DG those are unusual words in this disposable/copyanythingyoulike
honourless world we live in....we've not always seen eye to eye, but this time, you have my total respect.

    so, are we going ahead?....absolutely...

I never sought to make anything out of this, have already sunk $10k into it, and anything I get back is a plus....

As regards exclusivity, all we promised was there would be no further shirts made with correct,LEGALLY PRODUCED material cut and made by the actual film shirt maker...

how could we stop a cheap, illegal copy or two?.....

and finally, before anyone asks where did they get the material to create such a thorough copy, friends have been suggesting the answer lies within this thread...

please don't be too hard on the Judas....I've forgiven him/her already....

For myself, I have learned painfully one thing:
Never buy something, which is a compromise of the real deal.

Don't want to remember, how much cash I have wasted for Rolex alternatives etc and to my opinion, US$ 150,-- for something "close-as" is wasted money, when I am able to get the real deal-

Besides of this, my given word stays. Period.

Could one of the organizers perhaps give us a list of points on which to compare the two versions of the shirt? The big one I'm seeing is that Magnioli's is cotton and the privately commissioned one is silk, is that correct, or am I way off? Getting through 57 pages of thread is going to be tough.

I plan on sticking with my commitment to the commissioned project, but a side by side list of how the versions differ might help some folks decide.
