Jack Purcell size 10-11

Anyone know of any reliable sources for Jack Purcell shoes in size 10 to 11 in Chocolate/paprika colour. Dont care how much they cost. Or if anyone is selling any.

I really love these shoes but I could not find a UK size 11 anywhere and Converse have now stopped making this product. I did however manage to get hold of a pair in black but I found the rubber toe cap really tight on the toes so if you want my advice go for a pair half a size bigger than your regular fit. I no longer wear my pair so if any one is interested they are availble for a small fee.

I'm in the same boat as you as I am a 9.5 or a 10 in most shoes. I have not had any luck locating the chocolate/paprika mid's. However tonight (this morning actually as it is about 1AM local time)I was able to pick up a pair of Jack Purcell mids in chocolate and tan. The chocolate is the same as the CR shoe but the upper around the ankle seems to be a brownish tan canvas. Also the smile or stripe on the front of the shoe is definitely tan. However, I plan on taking a black sharpie to the stripes as soon as I get them. I think these are about as suitable a replacement as one could expect to find this late in the game. Also, because these are part canvas they might actually be more comfortable in the summer when I plan to wear them. So maybe this was the way to go for me.

I checked out further listings from that ebay seller and they have the same shoe I purchased in a 10.5 US. The seller name is "street-moda" and the listing number is 140186925134. Whoever needs a 10-11 should check this out. They also have the black in an 11 at the time of this posting. I forgot to mention earlier but all of the mids they offer have a "buy it now" price of $49.99 with shipping of $9.99. Perhaps they may have sources for additional pairs if anyone is looking. I would suggest contacting them through their ebay store. Happy hunting brothers!

From what I see on the pic, they are part leather/felt. As far as I know, the shoes in CR have been full leather

As previously stated, I know it is not an EXACT match. However, it seems to me that "chocolate" is "chocolate". I believe the brownish tan portion to be canvas.

I was simply offering the idea of these shoes to those who cannot find the spot on chocolate/paprika CR shoes but still want a pair of Jack Purcell's close enough to the movie. As we all too painfully know, The chocolate/paprika shoes seem to have gone the way of the dinosaurs. Beggars can't be choosers. Being a size 9.5 or 10 in US, I myself fall into the aforementioned "beggar" category. I was happy to find them.

If you're wearing long pants with these shoes I don't think the difference will be that noticeable as the "chocolate" part of the shoe will be the predominant color that is seen.

I know of others who have gone a similar route with the Nike Air Articulate II's from the Venice scene. The original screen shoes were grey. However, if those were not available people have sought out the same model in a different color. As an example...If you check out Mantis' photo collection in the CR portion of his website you will see that he has a pair of Nike Air Articulates in black.

I can't speak for Mantis, but it is safe to assume the grey would have been his first choice and he settled with the black when it was obvious that the grey could no longer be found on God's green earth...or for that matter the blue part of God's green earth. If I could find black Nike Air Articulates in my size (a 10 or 10.5 in most Nikes as that brand runs small from my experience) I would jump on them in a heartbeat. I'd still want the grey but I would take the black if they were they only ones available.

Personally, I think the stripe color is the biggest difference between two Converse shoes. The paprika stripe DOES look much different than the tan. However that stripe was changed to black for the movie and I plan on converting my tan stripe to black as soon as I get them. Having said that I think the difference between the two shoes will be less striking if the front stripe on both is black.

I don't want to discourage anyone from continuing to seach for the chocolate/paprika shoes...If you MUST have that color combination then go with whatever makes you happy.

Assessing my situation, I guess I'm pragmatic in that I realized it is not likely that I will find the chocolate/paprika shoes, so I went with the closest substitute. Now if I happen to stumble across a pair of the paprika, you can bet I'll jump on them. I just didn't want to be totally empty handed...It's close enough for me. If it's not for you then, as always, "happy hunting".

My 9 1/2 Jack Purcells arrived today and I am pretty happy with them. I know they are brown and tan instead of chocolate and paprika but they're close enough for me. One word on the sizing though for those of you still looking. I had read that these shoes run true to size...as opposed to the Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars which run big (I normally wear a 9 in Chucky's). Anyway, these fit me OK but if I come across another pair I'll be moving up a size. So I would recommend getting the next size up from what you normally wear if you haven't tried on a pair of these yet. Happy hunting.

I've got the paprika in mid and low and the black pebbled mid(for my motorcycle). The low is much more comfortable because it lacks the thick toungue so if you can find them in the right color they're also a good alternative. They're mostly covered by pants anyway.

On the chocolate and tan, what is the tan part of the shoe made from? It looks like flannel or suede in the pics.

The fabric is canvas but it is soft to the touch. I don't know how to describe it...maybe a brushed canvas...but it is canvas. Oddly enough the lining inside the shoe is leather. I was expecting canvas.

Surely there must be some out there. I have searched high and low and finally the better half was going to buy some for me for my birthday. Oh the humanity. Definately wish I had smaller feet

I bought mine at Zappos.com, I don't know if they still have any of the mids left but I just bought some White ones that have been out of stock for a while and now are back in. They are really one of the best shoe places I have ever used. They even have free overnight shipping. Good luck.

I checked them out and it seems they only have 8.5 and down

Also, Jack Purcell CP White/White and perhaps Blue/White were also used in CR during the Hospital Visit after the torture scene. May be an opportunity there.
