Bond 22 news

(Spoiler tag for the Amalric bit...)

Another bad guy has been cast, Swiss actor Anatole Taubman:

Also, another bit about Amalric being Blofeld:

Interesting about the second villain, a poster on another forum keeps saying there'll be two villains...which isn't such a stretch for a Bond film I guess.

No, indeed--but I would imagine that one is the major villain and the other is a lesser one. Remember, about two years news came out that CR would have a villain named Demetrius, and many people screamed, "What happened to Le Chiffre?" Little did they know Demetrius would be bumped off fairly early! But, anyway, as for the Blofeld thing, I'll again believe it when I see it.

The French website is simply running with the earlier Von Sydow comment, so yeah who knows? Still would love to see it happen. :v

Who knows, maybe the Blofeld comments describes that hes the primary villian. Or perhaps hes the head of the organisation, but bond doesnt face him in this story 9ala FRWL/TB)

More on Anatole Taubman, who is describing his role as the "second big villain of James Bond" in #22..."Not the henchman kind of thing, it's a really big role."

He also says his character is French ;)

...And another heavy, this one a Mexican (presumably to portray a Central American), joins the fray:

Also, Bolivia has been named as a location.

Since it's now less than 11 months to the film's release, is there an ETA to a press conference or an official site going live with more info about the movie?

Title, general plot, cast and crew announcements, stuff like that.

Is there even an official site for B22?

Things continue to move forward. Marc Forster has confirmed Amalric as the main villain, and Taubman as a secondary heavy:

Other tidbits as well: Switzerland is officially out as a location, and principal photography is to commence on 3 January 2008 B-)

Dan Same beware: Forster's implying that there will be a bit of Bond psychoanalysis going on :v

Interesting that Ganz was considered for Amalric's part...he'd have made a perfect Blofeld IMO. :v Younger is better? ;)

Forster also said that he would have loved to have Bruno Ganz portray the main villain. Ganz is a Swiss actor, best known for his role as Adolf Hitler in the highly praised German film The Downfall (2004) about the last days of Hitler in his Berlin bunker. "Still, Bruno Ganz could only have been the main villain. But we already signed Mathieu Amalric for this role".

So does this mean that Taubman will be playing Vesper's French-Algerian boyfriend, a part that Paul Haggis has countless times refused to deny?

I'm also beginning to think that Amalric will in fact be the distinguished head of "The Organization," whether it be Blofeld or a similar character given just a different name.

It probably won't be long until we know for sure.

I think some of that's TBE in light of the reboot, but I just hope they don't make it a habit.

(I know, it wasn't intended for me, but I thought I'd drop in my 2 cents anyway.
