Official NSNA

Don't you think this would be ace. I know it's a poorer Bond film (Mainly SC's age) but I see it as a good watch. Even though it's a remake of TB with some name changes I bet no-one would know the difference. Look at GF for instance, great film remade into OP (I don't know the plot but apparently it's similar to GF) AVTAK (GF with microchips) GE (GF with money) and TWINE (GF with 'black gold'). With a few tweaks (Gunbarrel, theme music, cast/crew) I bet it could qualify for a top Bond film.

Personally, I pretend that NSNA doesn't even exist, as it is a travesty IMO. It is quite sad since it's a remake of Thunderball, perhaps my favorite movie. Even with Sean Connery the film doesn't feel like a Bond film. Yes, a Barry score and gunbarrel sequence would have helped that a bit but the film just suffers from too many weaknesses. And what happens if you change the whole cast/crew and get EON working on it? Probably about the same as Thunderball, which was already made. NSNA is what it is, a poor remake of a great film and I don't see that anything would change that short of remaking the entire movie.

I love NSNA as much as any other Bond film. And IMO, its a better swan song for Connery than either AVTAK or DAD were for Moore and Brosnan, respectively.

I think its really neat a spy thriller, going back to the basics just as fine as FYEO did, but without the action-sequences-per-scene problem of that film.

Hey Sweepy, do you know about Never Say McClory Again (google it). A fan has made an EON-ised version of the film with gunbarrel and John Barry music on the soundtrack.

Yes, the Cruise missile flights, The Montblanc pen rocket, the fancy and underpowered motorcycle and the Atari battle have qualified the movie to be "back to basics".

To my opinion, comparing such a gem like FYEO with NSNA is pretty close to an offense :v

To me, anyone considering AVTAK, DAF, TMWTGG and MR above NSNA is pretty close to a lunatic. :v

Well, Jimmy Bond, you are very fast with your trigger finger an then insulting people, who don't share your opinion.
I suggest, that you control yourself a bit more as your recent apology for a similar insult on the same topic seems to be not really sincere, when I read this.

I am pretty sure, that there are enough "close-to-lunatics", who share my opinion.

I'm sorry, didn't I "insult" you with liking NSNA?

Point is, you have a harder time understand why I like NSNA more than you, than I have a problem with my quote. See, I even like those films - I just rate them differently.

So next time, take a good look on :v before trying to appear apologetic to me.

no, you insulted a movie, FYEO.

And you have talked about your judgements on my personality, which is even with a :v inappropriate.

What? NSNA isn't just a movie...

    It's a CR@P movie.... :))

Actually I don't know, it's dated badly. Odd to see with those old films a pretty decent, as in credible, villain in Klaus Maria Brandeur. They seemed to share the same film with Bond back then, whereas since Brosnan took over they kind of don't, it's like Bond is autonomous.

I don't know if anyone's already posted this, but here's a YouTube video of an "official" Bond canon start to NSNA.

It has the gun-barrel with SC, circa 1983 (is that TD's body they used? :D ), PTS and credit sequence, stolen from TB.

Looks well done, but I would have preferred the use of Lani Hall's title song.
