Some new pics on my web site of trip to Bond's Bahamas...look under Bond Travel page! I feel ok posting it here since I am wearing mostly Bond clothes in the pics. Look for sights from Thunderball and Casino Royale. Also, coming soon pics from the new Cafe Martinique!

    OH very nice,

the Thunderball location is cool but the The Bahama Bar is the best, the bar area actually exists, nice, i thought that scene was filmed in a studio.

Unfortunately the Thunderball wall by the water is scheduled for demolition in May....that is why I walked away with some pieces from it.

That's too bad for Bond fans. I went to Nassau, Bahamas for my honeymoon in 2000. I got a piece of the wall as well. I also was lucky enough to walk around the property of Rock Point which doubles as Palmyra in TBall. I simply went to the front door and asked if I could take pictures. The woman who answered said I was welcome to walk around the property and take pictures but that I could not go inside. I didn't much care about the inside because in the movie the inside of Palmyra is a set. I got to take pictures of the shark pool and regular pool. I also have a piece of the shark pool which was very run down. In fact, both pools and the back patio were in a poor state of disrepair. I also picked up some dirt as well.

In addition, I picked up a topographical map of Rock Point at one of the local government agencies. It shows all of Rock Point including pools, buildings, and elevations. The original pool had circular stairs at all four corners. Those stairs were covered by faux ends on the short sides to help contain the shark grating in the movie. When Connery visits Palmyra and enters the pool area, you see him step up onto the faux cement as he walks along the back side of the pool. Drawings of the circular stairs are also contained in the article on Thunderball in Esquire Magazine of the period.

Very cool, Rick....yes, one of the managers at the Atlantis told me about the impending destruction of the wall. Sad but I understand it...compared to the other parts of the Atlantis it does look run down to the lay-man....

Great pictures! I love the one where you're bending down to tie your shoe. I was looking for Alessandra Ambrosio in the backround, but I couldn't spot her!
Where can I get the white short sleeve shirt you are wearing?

It is an exact replica of the one seen in the movies and can be purchased from Indy Magnoli...BTW, funny story about the blue shoes I was wearing...they were my canvas beach shoes but the brown dress shoes I brought were severely damaged in the trip so I had to wear them the ENTIRE TIME.....ah well...

Excellent stuff. I can't believe how dilapited the Thunderball location is, it should have been preserved as a national monument. Great pics. Sam wants to go to the Bahamas this year. She may get lucky, plus she gets to pay {[]

Great pics- looks like a very nice holiday!

Fun to see those locations; very impressed at the bar- nice to know they used the real thing. And to have your photo on the steps where they did the photocall- a sign of a true Bond fan! :D

    Nice shirt, by the way.
