How much do you think it'll make? I think it'll make about $700million (Worldwide)

I guess that is very possible. CR grossed $587,607,184. So 700 million isn't to much of a strecth. It also depends on what other movies are scheduled to come out around the same time. I think it won't hit the 700 million mark. I think it'll top out at 600 million (Worldwide).

As long as it's enough of a hit to continue to annoy the negativists... :(|) :D

I too hope that Bond 22 brings in truck loads of cash. After all, I want to make sure that there's plenty of money left in the kitty to spend on Craig's successor. :(|) :D

Well if CR is anything to go by, you'll get your wish, Tee. Say three "Thank You, Daniel Craig"s and a "Bless You, Babs" before bed tonight. ;)

In case it does make up to figures like $700 M, it would make Bond 22 be the first Bond actor's second appearance since uh, From Russia With Love to have a considerably improved box office compared to the respective actor's first film.

A slight calculation of previous box office changes between each actor's first two films:
    DN-FRWL: +32%
    LALD-TMWTGG: -40%
    TLD-LTK: -18%
    GE-TND: -3%

...all of which counts up for an average drop of -7.25% so I'd predict Bond 22 to make $545 M internationally. But you know, we'll just wait and see... :p

Each one of Brosnan's movies made more then the one before so hopefully Craigs will do the same. I would like to see a Bond movie break the $700 million mark.

I'd love to see #22 do bigger business than CR, and $700 million worldwide would be fantastic---but, realistically, I'll be happy if it's in the same neighborhood, whether over or under. 'Actor change' films always seem to have a slight advantage out of the gate, whether it's due to excitement or curiosity factors. As the departed benskelly once observed, it's the second entry by an actor that tends to be the referendum on him. Ben always seemed convinced that Craigger would belly-flop in his second outing :#

My own confidence in Craig is unabated, and I'm loving his interpretation of the character. It's the script, direction, editing, etc that will tell the tale for me, regardless of box office take.

BOND 22 will be going toe-to-toe with the sixth HARRY POTTER film - "The Half-Blood Prince". If BOND 22 even makes 500 million dollars, I will be very surprised.

You might be right; undoubtedly HBP will keep #22 out of the #1 spot---if it makes its release date, which is far from a sure thing at this point...the last I'd heard, it was one of those imperiled by the ongoing WGA strike.

Strike aside, perhaps the two franchises share enough of a common audience that Potter might hurt Bond...but I'm not sure about that. I didn't know they shared the same release date ?:)

I imagine Bond 22 and HARRY POTTER will work out like CR and HAPPY FEET: the kiddie movie will rule (they always do), but Bond will still gets his. My guess: about the same as CR's take, which would mean an adjusted dip ala GE-to-TND. I'll take it. ;)

Happy Feet worldwide Box office = $384,330,479
Casino Royale worldwide Box office = $594,239,066

    Hardly “rule”.

Lol. I was just thinking back on how HP was always just above CR in the US box office every week...but yeah, worldwide we buried those tux-wearing pigeons. :D
