Word is that the P99 will stay. Mainly because its a Walther, and he's James Bond. In reality it would more likely be my new weapon of choice; a Sig Sauer.

Really? That would be quite a (nice) change. Last time it was just used in the PTS bathroom scene, but he's using it full time now? Is that what you're saying, Asp? :D

Hmm..I JUST got used to the P99. But its been years...I can accept either. But, even as old a pistol as it is, the PPK screams Bond.

the PPK is back? honestly? even though its an awesome gun its a wee bit old

I'm surprized myself, never imagined that this would happen. I have just warmed to the P99 and had hopes for the PPS. But a reliable source has told me that rubber stunt PPK's were at a London shoot in which Craig was involved.

It seems a strange back-track. Maybe the PPK is his personal arm, and the P99 or other modern pistol is 'issue'. Purely speculation about that, but at least we have something to talk about again {[]

well if it was for just a shoot maybe it wont be the gun that appears in the film? kinda like how the CR posters had craig with it but it only used it once in the film.

No, you don't make stunt guns unless they are seeing considerable action. Plus the law surrounding imitation firearms is the same as the live ones here in the UK, so they must be used substantially.

Great news about the PPK...perhaps the best news I've heard about #22 yet :)

It makes sense (to me) that it would be a personal 'back up' piece, perhaps, as has been said, with the P99 as the 'issued' weapon. It would be nice to see the PPK get a line of dialogue, with Bond defending it: "It's been a good gun for me." :007)

Like Asp9mm I am rather surprised that they would fall back on the PPK, especially since the P99 was so effectively used in Casino Royale. Heck I watched PB carry a P99 for a couple of films and really never gave it much thought, after seeing DC with one - had to add it to the collection - go figure!

As long as the PPK used is the German Version, its fine with me!!!

Lots of interesting news about this film, just hope when its popcorn time we will all be satisfied.

    :)

If we could only get Rolex to pony up a few submariners and some $$$, then add the DB5 - couldn't ask for more ....except an Eva Green cameo!

It's not that I dont trust you. But I very much doupt the PPK will bve back

In my opinion James Bond should carry a few guns.

read a few of flemmings novels and the great article published on this site a few weeks ago regarding the guns of ian flemming.

    Bond caried many a gun

I think we should see this in the next film

    He should have a

    P99 with a silencer

    ppk with a silencer

    Ruger .22

A gun which I think bond should have used years ago. I do love the walther, but this gun has its own silencer built in you cant get the gun unsilenced and its realiable.

    and a tranquilizer gun

I know Bond can take down most enimies but he may face a seriously heavy handed guy who wont go down quietly and things could get messy.

    bro i've missed ur humour....welcome back...{[]

I can back up ASP9mm on this....there is definitely a PPK in this film...

but it's quite likely Bond picks up another gun along the way....eg the Browning Hi-Power from the embassy scene....

    http://www.imfdb.org/index.php?title=Browning_Hi-Power

this is an awesome site..the IMDB for firearms...

    wicked... :D

apols to those who already use this site a lot...

but it's new, and needs your help (esp ASP9mm, DG, Nightshooter, etc etc) cos it's got loads missing... :'(

the list of all guns used in the film

    http://www.imfdb.org/index.php?title=Casino_Royale

    (anything missing? B-) )

But when it comes to the PPK,
    http://www.imfdb.org/index.php?title=Walther_PPK

but a few references to the ppk (eg look up Goldfinger...) don't tie up to the ppk page..

So please guys, give this site a bit of your time and massive knowledge.. :007)

it would be most exciting for me if Bond carry an ASP - the best contribution from Gardner

or a HK VP-70 from Icebreaker

H&K P7 in Icebreaker. Much better pistola than the VP70. I used to have quite the fetish for them...

    Beautiful gun collection ASPmm

    Asp9mm,

Wonderful display, hope you still have them all. The P7 is a fine pistol, and very Bondian.

Interestingly, all the potential Bond pistols mentioned are pretty antique! Both the ASP, and the H&K's are 20+ year old designs. Still fine guns and much newer than the PPK which dates from the Great Depression!

    The P99 was a good choice, 1) It's current 2) It's a Walther 3) It's a touch obscure (exotic).

These days the P99 often gets overlooked when compared to all the other polymer pistols extent, but its a fine reliable pistol ..... oh well!
