An interesting titbit on p231 of Henry Chancellor's excellent James Bond: The Man And His World. It reports that Fleming was annoyed at newspaper proprietor Lord Beaverbrook for abruptly dropping the long-running cartoon strip of Bond in the Daily Express, and drew up a short story entitled The Shameful Dream that remained unfinished. It begins with the newspaper editor Caffery Bone leaving the office in his Rolls.
Now, bearing in mind that Brosnan's second film was about the newspaper world, why not use that title and the name of the editor, rather than Tomorrow Never Dies and Elliot Carver?
