New hairstyle for Craig?

With the new footage, it looks as though Craig has changed his hairstyle from CR to something a little classier, IMO. Bond is growing up a little, I think.

Thoughts?

Yes, it looks that way on the poster they have released as well.

    Definitely more mature I think.

It is about time they gave Daniel Craig a better hairstyle. Bond has classy and sophisticated hair. In CR his hair looked like it was styled by the guy who styles Leonardo DiCaprio's hair. :))

I don't know of any 'official' poster that's been released. And there's nothing on the Sony website here:

    http://www.007.com/

There is a pic of Craig which looks rather recent if you click on the Cast tab. It gives a good look at Craig's hairstyle.

Craig says the movie takes place "20 minutes" after the last ended.

That must have been what Bond did for the 20 minutes, went out and got himself a haircut.

Maybe Mr. White keeps a barber handy around the house.

Maybe Mr. White gave him (Bond) a haircut himself

I don't see any significance difference, myself, anymore than I see any significant difference in Craig's musculature, age, etc ... Although I did notice that Craig's hair was precisely the same length at the beginning and at the end of CR. :))

i didnt notice that much of a difference other then it looks less like a military haircut

The freeze frame at the start of the clip on the IGN web-site has a pic of Craig and his hair is definitely different.

However, I did notice clip when Bond was in the scene where he jumped that his hair did look every bit the same as CR.

Indeed. Frankly it looks slightly...dare I say it? Connerylike :D

Yeah, keep pluggin' that, Loeff. :o

I'm sure they can style whatever hair Craig has into the doo he had at the end of CR. Heck they had Connery wigged for all but one, two films? No biggee...for Bond. :007)

Being blonde and that, haircut looks more Steve McQueen-ish, but yeah, there is definitely a 60s quality to it, which is great.
I look at his picture in 007.com, and think to myself, "this guy is James Bond", and it used to be "this is Pierce Brosnan playing James Bond". That only happes to me with the first iconic Connery images from 1962-63, and Craig pictures playing Bond.

Yes and here is the link, like I said in my other post not sure if I like it or not, much prefer the fan art posters I've seen on here!

That's an old fan poster- it uses a Casino Royale image of Craig.

I agree with Loeffs; it is a Connery-esque cut.

Actually, it is very similar to Craig's Layer Cake haircut.

I think the CR haircut was good for a man who comes from the navy. It's a nice touch to make the new haircut more classy and sofisticated in line with the evolution of the Craig Bond's personality.

I think it may be Craig's usual haircut. I seem to remember something he said in an interview prior to CR about not wanting to dye his hair black for the role but saying he'd get a military cut to give him an edgier look. Mission accomplished there. I guess this time out Bond is a little more comfortable with his new job and how he's to present himself. That still doesn't quite explain how his hair grew out half an inch and he lost 5-10 lbs in the 20 minutes since we last saw him :)

What's so "immature" about the tapered style in Casino Royale?

Either way, the hair is fine with me.

You'd think with all the news that came out last week that we'd have something better to do than discuss Craig's changing hairstyle in the 20 minutes between films. :))

While certainly curious, this change in hair is nothing like the transformation Bond goes through between OHMSS and DAF. One minute he's holding his dead wife and the next he's hunting down Blofeld with a different height, weight, apperance, age, and voice. :s

It is very clever to use Bond's hair to show the evolution of his charecter, I would wager that they will shoot the first parts of QOS last and prehaps restore the "clipped" look to DC for the sake of continuity.

While it may be a minor issue, a bad "do" on the hero can really gum up a film. For instance, what did they do to GL's hair in OHMSS to give it such an unnatural look. His thin sideburns always remind me of a high school kid growing his first facial hair. Overall GL looks too coiffed for either a bookworm geneologist or a rugged secret agent. He looks his best in the PTS with wet hair.

But through all 21 films, nothing can top SC's bad rugs. If there is a fault in "Goldfinger" it is Connery's toupee, styled after those worn by Burl Ives. In "Thunderball" and YOLT the toupee comes and goes - like an uncredited guest star. At least with the first two films, SC still had enough of his own hair to go round - even if they needed a dab of paint to fill it in for FRWL.

What happened in DAF? Prehaps it was an EON conspiracy as SC's un-natural hair actually looked "ok" in most of NSNA. One thing about RM, his well laquered hair was his own and looked real.

TD and PB needed barbering - Bond should NEVER have his hair covering his ears. At least PB cleaned up after Goldeneye, shedding his poofy "Remington Steele" look.

While we are on fashion topics, please don't mention GL's puffy tuxedo shirt or his pink shirt and turtleneck, and the ... kilt - only SC could get away with that! Sometimes I think Lee Tamahori was costume designer on OHMSS.

    opps! ranting!

Back to DC's hair, Post 26

    ;)

Not having much of my own, Danny's hair looks like...hair.
  • 72897289 Beau DesertPosts: 1,691MI6 Agent
Nothing against thinning hair - but bad toupee's .... SC should have just left them in the dressing room!

Let's enjoy DC's bushy head while it lasts!

For the rest of us there are ball caps, preferably worn with the bill to the front!

I completely agree. This is the first time since Connery that I've had the "this guy is James Bond" feeling. In fact, the new picture of Craig is strongly reminiscent of Ian Fleming's comissioned Drawing of James Bond IMO
    Take a look:
    Craig:

    And Fleming's Comissioned:

Furthermore, Craig is the only Bond that I've looked at and said "That guy is IAN FLEMING's James Bond!

Dalton is my favorite with Craig a close second. Having said that a great candidate for the worst hair was Tim's Dracula meets sideburns do in LTK.
