NEW GOLDEN GUN REPLICA

scaramangasgoldengunscaramangasgoldengun ScotlandPosts: 1,388MI6 Agent
I have been studying the real golden gun for some time now. My gradfather made me a replica of the golden gun some time ago and I love it you can see it on my site in the weapons of villany section. I have always wanted to make one myself from scratch. And now I am and my grandfather has decided to make another.

My grandfather and I are now going head to head in a golden gun battle.

we are making one each with no help from each other at all.

I am getting mines cast in aluminum and gold plated. it will break down and fire a cap in the barrel.

my grandfathers new gun will be made from brass. he is going to make the handle house cigars and the lighter will work like a real lighter and the pen barrel will take a bullet. My grandfather is also going to get my new replica and his gold plated.

so all in all we will have 3 guns just like the film and they will function similar to the film.

my grandfather has been studying the gun for a while now he claims the handle is in fact a cigar case and I have to agree I have researched
cigar cases and the gun handle matches a cigar case rather than a cigarette case. most cigarette cases are very thin nothing like the gun butt of the real one. But in the world of bond it is a cigarette case.

I have been in talks with a metal casting factory in Scotland and its looking good. I am to make the gun or they have offered to make it from modeling materials and cast it. at a great price.

Depending on the interest of teh gun. I intend to make a few if anyone is interested It will be almost identical to the Golden gun seen in the Book THE SECRET WORLD OF JAMES BOND. I will be selling the gun for £ 200 per gun.

any way if any one is interested in one obviously i will let you see it before orders are placed.

But if anyone is genuinely intereseted let me know on the forum post.

thanks I will keep you all uptated regarding this

Hi SMGG, I'm impressed with you and your grandfather's dedication and craftsmanship, congratulations! As an aside, and to dust off a recurring obsession of mine about the literary Bond's gunmetal wide and flat cigarette that can hold 50 cigarettes, did you come across anything related to this in your research on cigar cases? Based on tidbits I read online on cigarette cases, a gunmetal finish was pretty common in Britain during 1920-50, but I haven't found any definitive specimens fitting Fleming's specifications. Thanks.

With Master Replica's announcement that they are releasing a Golden Gun,I would be a bit wary of conflicts of copyright...especially posted to a public forum with so much foot traffic.

Shoot me an email and I will explain in some more detail...

YES i have had much discussion with ED from THE SPY BOYS. and the golden gun project has been scrapped.
    ;)
well the part of it being available to you all has been scrapped. SORRY you will not be able to buy one from me As I dont want to be sued by Master replicas. And I will more than likely end up buying there version also.

I see nothing, stopping me and my grandfather from making as many as we want for my James Bond display and collection.

SORRY ONCE AGAIN FOR GETTING hopes built up .

Yeah, you can make them and just simply give them away, i don't see any wrong doing with that;)

ok free GOLDEN GUN'S FOR ALL !

maybe some props and Bond items trading is the best solution.

As a fellow bond fan and friend pointed out the bond props place in ARGENTINA have been making golden gun replicas and still and are always will. and they havent been stoped so. why cants I apply the same rules. ?

maybe if I move to argentina I will be able to LOL

My gradfather and I have decided not to go head to head but to team up and make a golden gun to end all replicas. it will be exact to the gun seen in the big red book ' the secret world of 007'

it will be more accurate than an SD gun and mostly likely the sd re release from Master replicas.

I know outragous claims from me but time will tell.

I will keep you all up to date.

I have been speaking to a metal works casting factory in my home town of glasgow. and I will be visiting them with a portfolio of pictures and sketches etc.

    in the summer.

I have been granted a tour of there metal processes and finishing workshops.

all parties are enthusiastic. about this project. and it should be an absoulte gem when its finished.

    wish me Luck ! Lol

Hi Leo loved the video ... fantastic I did guess the new peice before reading the reply comments... lol

I was proud to see my Solex agitator replica in your video there .. its an honour... love the gun ..

My custom made one off Golden gun is going to pinewood in september with me ...

I got an aluminium lockable flight case for it and some certification made up for it signed by my grandfather who made the gun...

So who else thinks the master replicas golden gun is cancelled.. ?
  • 037 Scaramanga037 Scaramanga FloridaPosts: 160MI6 Agent
    HI Mike,

glad you liked it the solex was perfect to add, i'm surprised you knew which piece it was, only because SD GG owners know that the pen cap screws off and not twist off like the new cap,
i made it bacause i wanted it to look just like it does in the movie when he assembles the Gun.

Hi Leo .. I knew through years of and still being obsessed with the gun and its replicas... and you made a point of assembling it like christopher Lee and I have assembled both the 1st generation and 2nd generation golden gun from SD

I hope so David I was so looking forward to it... but I just have a strange feeling that it is going to be announced that it is getting cancelled

I'm hoping that also, i believe we want to hear the news soon regarding the Master Replicas GG, and this is maybe because we believe they will announce it before the new Bond movie is out, but they might announce it before Christmas.
that would be a good gift to have under the tree don't you think.

for those of you who haven't seen the new video on youtube, here's the link, the gun shows a differnt cap on the pen, than that of Sd studios pen cap.

I am going to treat myself to a master replicas gun... if and when it comes out...

I wish they released some photos of it apart from the ones we have seen already and the toy fair ..

it looks to be a great prop .. the cuff link looks to be better than the SD gun AND THE PEN LOOKS more accurate to the film ..

however the only thing is the cigarette case gun butt... seems a bit different however I like it,,

does anyone know if it will come with documentation and photos Like the SD gun .. or will it simply come in the aluminium attache case etc

eaither way works for me... they should jus concentrate on the golden gun I think it would be the best seller,,, were as I think the breathers and other props may flop ... I dont know .. I can't see a big rush to buy anything but the gun
  • 037 Scaramanga037 Scaramanga FloridaPosts: 160MI6 Agent
I have a new prop in my collection, i have made Scaramanga Chungwa cigarette pack bullet tray.
all bullets are SD studios second generation.

Nice find Leo my good man... I think if there was ever a Bond exhibition to be held devoted to ever film... you should be the curator of TMWTGG section
