whats up asp9mm :)) .. nice to see you on the forums again.. I havent been on myself in a while

The way things are going, I'm thinking of changing my name for something more PC :(

The gun that was taken from the collector was indeed an SD gun and as such is not illegal to own. The problem is that people are so fuzzy on the law and terrified of the whole process of being interviewed, that they just agree to the charges to get out of there, and most settle for a caution. If they had a decent solicitor present then the CPS and police would have no gounds to charge anyone for having such an item unless it was proven that it was bought after the VCR act came into force. And even then the GG is exempt from this act.

The sad fact is, collectors are easy targets for them, and boost the arrest figures up so that they can meet their targets and gain positive publicity in the attack on armed crime. Long gone are the times when you can show your Bond gun collections online unless you want to make yourself a target for arrest, confiscation and prosecution :#

The Golden Gun luckily (due to the nature of it's finish), falls into the category of a replica pistol that is legal to own and buy even after the VCR act came into being. This is the only Bond related gun that falls into this category as it cannot be mistaken for a real firearm. Unless some idiot paints it black of course

I have serious doubts as to this being an SD Studios gun.. as she reffered to it as a Slug Gun.. slang for an air gun... I think this may have been a mocked up air weapon that looked like the Golden gun .. or something like a GAT pistol sprayed Gold or modified.... etc it was surely not an SD GUN

    http://www.dumbartonreporter.co.uk/articles/1/38616/

BUT I think the thing with this.. is the fact that her house was raided for drugs... and not the fact that she had the gun.. i think that was a bonus for the police to find that and take it....

after reading the article again, it states the golden gun replica was an air gun, which could be converted.

    if this replica was an illegal firearm it was either;
    a) an air pistol that produced a muzzle energy of more than 6ftlbs/second
    b) based on the brocock precharged 'air bullet' system.

the brocock guns were banned a few years back because they could be so easily converted to fire live rounds.

for people not in the know, brocock, an english firm, made air guns that worked like real guns. the sir was contained within .38 calibre precharged bullets, that had a screw on cap that held the pellet. simply charge your bullets, screw on the cap with a pellet inside and load your gun as per usual firearm.

when brocock guns were banned in the UK, you could still keep hold of it, but you'd need to obtain a special certificate, which was virtually a firearms cert. sale and purchasing and manufacture of the brocock guns were banned outright, ie if you had one you kept it for life or handed it in to be destroyed. you couldn't sell it on to anyone.

now if the replica in question was a brocock gun, then buying it over ebay was an offence for both seller and buyer. as far as i know, ebay stopped the sale of air guns quite a while back.

being as i've never seen any mass made air guns that resemble the golden gun, it must have been a custom build, and i'm not sure if making your own air gun is illegal, firearms most definately, but i dunno about air guns.

anyways, a replica gun that fires even an air pellet is certainly a bit naughty.

my major advise for anyone who want to make their own GG is make sure you check with ya local authorities before making it. either that or just keep it under wraps and don't broadcast it to the world that you're making naughty stuff.

    even if you're not selling it, even if its gold, even if its only firing a cap, its still dodgy, and you're not totally safe because;

(in the best daniel craig in layer cake voice i can muster)
"it doesn't f@#king work like that!"

NEWS. It was definitely NOT a SD Studios gun, but a resin copy of an SD with a steel barrel inserted. It also had dummy rounds which were submitted for testing also 8-) The report in the local paper and news was another attempt at exaggeration and glorification of these things being converted to fire projectiles which it was not capable of doing at any level.

The Brocock revolvers could be converted to fire live rounds, but I really wouldn't want to risk my hand firing one of those conversions.

minigeff, in the words of ''Jamie Foreman'' as the Duke in Layer Cake... ''You would give a fu**ing aspirin a headache Pal!''

I actully think this Golden Gun replica has been unfairly taken from Lisa Anderson....

I would have liked to have seen it before the police deemed it a law breaker..

It seems the press and the reporter of that story are indulging themselves in a bit of sensationalism.

The golden gun was a resin copy. She also had a CO2 .177 airgun in a plastic case. The press seem to be confusing themselves with the facts. The .177 airgun is the one they are claiming can be converted. It is a copy of the Beretta 92F.

This collector was unfairly treated then ? as her Golden Gun should not have been taken .. the Co2 gun is the gun thats the problem .. not the golden Gun..... typical Media... you can't realy beleive anything they say .. its always blown out of proportion and exagerated.. always.. I would love to submit this Golden Gun story to Charlie Brooker.. for his screenwipe show on BBC4 ... what a guy .. hillarious. :)) cuts through all the Bulls**t

Just an update .. and to let everyone know ho wthe new Golden Gun is progressing...

its well on its way to a complete finished Model... and first ever working Golden Gun...

the pen mechanisms cuff link triggers. and handle are all finished.... and the lighter is almost complete.....

    1. The pen features original Waterman fixtures and parts... a real waterman fountain pen nib.. which is removable for consrtucting the Golden gun... a 2 way cap... the pen can be made into the fountain pen in 2 styles.... a waterman logo cap .. is attachable and removable to reveal the gun barrel hole / exit.

    2. a set of cufflinks.. are with the gun for wearing .. and pivot like the originals... and not solid and cuncky like the SD guns.. there are very accurate to the film... both cucff links attache to fire the gun... which fires CAPS! well we shall say caps.. for now...

    3. the handle contains and stores the original brand of Thailand cigarettes from the film in the handle .. the handle is not a solid object .. it has moving components and parts .. a compartment for storing the cigarettes and a flip of top to form teh Golden Gun... a very smart looking item...

    4. the Colibri lighter.... has teh pull out extension exact to the film ... however mucg like the rest of the gun .. some realistic changes have been made and some alternative design applied to make it more convincing as individual items as well as the Godlen Gun when built up.. it features a work original 70's colibri lighter function in the back.. it can also take a golden bullet which can be loaded into teh breach from the flip down lighter back.... in the from it features the colibri logo and lighter gas holes.. for an authentic lighter look.. this is where it differes from SD and Film guns..

this replica.. looks belevable and convincing and actually fully works! .. as the intividual every day items.... and they hide the fact that they go together very well .. with no slots holes.. or function visable .. and no Magnets have not been used at all in this replica...

the gun is looking very smart .. with a few minor differences created.. such as certain patterns on items..... to corespond with its real life counter parts and not the ficticious film prop ..... the differences.. some will see as an improvment on the original film prop.. and appreciate the reasons behind them ... other will complain that it should be exact to the film.... but opinions vary ... all the time thats just life.... :))

i hope to release some advanced promotional shots of the gun .. once it has been gold plated....

it also comes in a fantastic .. vintage wooden gun box.. velvet lined.. with Golden Ammunition and extras....

in addition to the gun .. and all of its components.. is ..

a replica of Scaramanga's Belt Buckle which houses 2 golden bullets... this is a separate product which may be made available separate from the gun .. but for th initial prototype it will be part of it.. the belt buckle .. will be a universal clasp / clip design .. which you will be able to attach to any belt....

hope you are all looking forward to the Gun's release as much as I am .. i know you wont be disapointed at all... when you see it.. and also see the promotional videos of it working and actually shooting !

more updates and New to come...

    Cheers :007)

    I think it's a spiffing idea.

Give it a little more zing though and have a blank firing .38, or maybe .50?

Think the brass should be more than enough to withstand that without you risking loosing any digits.
