TSWLM Locations

Strangeways

I am planning to go to Malta in the summer. I note that TSWLM was filmed in part there. Was this standing in for Sardinia? Can anyone let me know where the locations were so that I can check them out.

I know the Robin Williams "turkey" Popeye was filmed there too, before anyone tells me that. No doubt I will check out that place as well, but it is really Bondian locations I am interested in!

I think Malta is one of those locations which is used for underwater filming as the water is so clear. I don't think any Maltese locations were used on screen in TSWLM - that was actually Sardinia - just some of the underwater stuff.

Thank you. If it was used for underwater shots and the sea is that clear I am looking forward to doing some diving there!

viisted there last summer and it is absolutely gorgeous, and the water is indeed crystal clear!

It's a bit late but I found this. It's the Gayer Anderson Museum in Cairo that was used for Sander and Bond's fight scene.
