I remember reading somewhere that QoS would be a more dressed-down casual Bond. But that was a few months ago and all of the pictures I've seen are of DC in suits. The recent pictures of Bond getting out of a taxi in Panama in his suit sticking out like a sore thumb in a crowd of casually dressed people gives me a Moore/Brosnan clotheshorse vibe. It's early yet... hope springs eternal.

Although we are in a more casual dressing down culture there is something about JB and jeans that for me just don't go together. One of the things which seperates Bond for other hero's is his sense of style. Jason Bourne, Ethan Hunt, John MacLane, Martin Riggs etc. all look like they buy their clothes at charity shops.

The only time I can remember JB in denim is in LALD when he is in San Monique with Rosie Carver.

I think they got the balance right between dress and casual in CR. Bond wore what was right for each situation he was in at the time.

Having said that DC looked pretty cool at the photo call in the Bahamas in the white shirt and jeans.

The location photos so far do show the sharp suits. The first one is a meeting with M so he would be expected to wear a suit. The ones in Bolivia (nee Panama) are hard to say without knowing the context. He may be dressed for a cover story.

Did he not wear jeans in Vienna with Kara during LD? In the scene were they are in a horse drawn cart.

No they were black trousers to go with the black leather jacket and grey pullover.

In some ways it would make sense that JB would wear jeans at some point in this day and age. At the same time in CR he wore casual clothing that was a good compromise. Khakis and polos are a bit more classic and still well dressed enough to keep him out of jeans.

The suits do stick out in Panama.

Just saw some more behind the scenes photos of DC filming in Panama and he is in another suit and tie. So much for the more casual approach in QOS.

This may be an extraordinarily brief moment, but I think Craig may have been wearing jeans in CR when he walked onto the balcony with Mathis on the morning of the second day of the poker game.

Ahaha, that would be quite funny there, but I think he should stay with the more formal wear.

Bond should simply wear what's appropriate for whatever he happens to be doing, just like he does in the novels, and that includes jeans. Of course, he should be particular about what jeans he wears, not based on the cost, but Bond's personal tastes, which has always been the case with the character. For example, with jeans, he might be adamant about wearing on the classic Levi-Strauss 501s, and turn his nose up at all those other flavors that are out there.

I think he was wearing the grey trousers with the inlaid stripe that he was wearing in M's appartment.

I certainly believe that if he were in jeans it would have to be terribly appropriate for him to be in jeans...say he is riding a horse in a rodeo or going shopping for jeans with a woman he is trying to work for information and by putting her in an uncomfortable situation such as jean shopping thought he might disarm her and gather the necessary information. :D otherwise, keep him formal or with a suit or in khakis and shirts where necessary. i really liked what was going on with CR, that combination worked and felt natural. also, Dr. No was done well. his outfits made sense.

Bond in a pair of 501's?...yeah. Now he just needs some of those trademark Thom Browne ankle exposing pants and we got pure 21st century Bond. Cool!
    Never fear the event

DC is almost wearing some with the new casual kit. Those pants are really hemmed short. If not for the Chukkas you might see ankle.
