I may be imagining this, but can anyone tell me which film featured a scary female german shotputter type masseuse? Think she knocked him around a bit.

Sounds like The Living Daylights. But she was an ally of Bond's in Bratislava, an early scene of the film. She didn't hit Bond, she clutched some security guard/boffin to her busom to cover for the lights going up on the board behind him, signifying the defector was going through the 'pig' on the gas pipeline (never did understand this scene much).

TLD, in the scene where Bond and Q are reviewing all known KGB killers they come across a rather unpleasant looking lady, very rotund and mean looking who "strangles with hands or thighs".

I'll bet that's who your looking for.

i'm sure all shotputters of non german provenience are absolutely stunningly beautiful and to a substancial degree less scary.

In regard to the woman who helped Bond in TLD she was supposed to be eastern european with a name like Rosita Miklos, quite possibly Czech or Slowakian, or possibly a russian double Agent.

I remember two films with a masseuse/masseur. TB has a beautiful blond masseuse that does not fit the bill at all, and NSNA has a scene were Bond takes over for Kim Bassinger's masseur.

That TB girl being Molly Peters playing Patricia Fearing. There was also Jan Williams playing Red (Robert Shaw) Grant's masseuse in FRWL, again not fitting the bill.

Hugo Drax: Half German (English mother)
Krebs, his henchman: German
Irma Bunt: German (Bavaria, to be exact)
Dr Kaufman: Not Fleming, presumably German
Karl Stromberg: Not Fleming- Swedish (the character, not the actor)
Loeff & Bro: Better consult them!

And can I add:
Auric Goldfinger: Latvian (the film character's original nationality isn't given; he's cited by Felix as British, but not sounding like it, which fits in well enough with Fleming and with the- inspired- choice of actor)
Rosa Klebb: Russian (the character, not the actress)
Helga Brandt: Nationality not known- could be German, Swiss or Austrian?
Stamper: German
Milton Krest: Half German (his father was Prussian)
Dr No: Half German (unless you're watching the German version, where he's half English! ) )
