I´ve read in this article that some of the movies will be released in high-def.

Anyone know if they will release any hd-movies?

I think it would be nice to watch some of the older movies in a little bit higher def.;)

Sry for my bad English :p

All Bond movies have been remastered in HD for the Ultimate Edition SD release.

So at some point in the future, no doubt a HD release will occur, probably when the number of Blu-ray players sold will be significant enough.
PS3 is a fair start but cannot handle HD sound formats.

However at this time, none of the huge bonus material exists in HD format.

What is the "Ultimate Edition SD release"?
Is this a new set of DVD's being released in the near future?

SD is standard definition, so that would be the regular Ultimate Edition DVDs that came out in 2006.

As of yesterday Toshiba have announced they are stopping the HD DVD format. This has swung everything towards blue Ray and Sony.
I would expect to see Blue Ray versions of all Bond films in the near future.

Microsoft has signed an agreement with MGM to show the Bond films (and other titles from their catalog) in high definition thru their Xbox Live service; DAD and TWINE are already available for rental. So if you have an Xbox 360 you can get a taste of what these movies will look like in high def today.

As to the inevitable BluRay releases, I have a feeling they'll coincide with the home video release of Quantum of Solace, most likely sometime in mid 2009.

Casino Royale is currently the only Bond film available in Blu Ray, I would not surprised if Sony puts the older films as a lead in to QOS like they did the with the Ultimate Edtions in the months leading up to Casino Royale.

Highdefdigest.com, a pretty reputable site, has an article on the Bond movies and when they may possibly see the light of day on BluRay. Looks like a handful are being released this November in France. That may suggest a near simultaneous released in other regions. The rest are rumored to be coming out at the same time as the home-video release to QoS, some time in mid 2009. Here's a link:

As will I. They look incredible in UE format, they’re sure to look phenomenal on Blu-ray.

Well except for the last few Bond films being the most hi-tech, there is only so much digital remastering could do for the older bond films so I dunno if they could make good use of the stunning capability of Blu-Ray technology.
