Every time I watch the trailer I keep thinking that MI6 will send another 00 agent after Bond to bring him in. I hope we see another 00 agent. It's been a while since we seen one.

This looks great. I totally agree they should send another '00' after Bond. But i can't figure out what part of the movie he goes 'off the books'. It has to be towards the end, so it should be a great ending. Hopefully bringing closure to this story line yet setting up endless possibilities for Bond 23.
To be fair to Monique, I remember her always being very upfront about liking Craig in CR a lot.
I wouldn't want to speak for her, but I'm pretty sure she's not all that wild about Craigger...
You guys are both right! I'm not really fond of him personally, but I think he was great in CR, which I liked a lot. Thanks for pointing that out blueman, I was going to remind emtiem, that it is on record somewhere in the deep archives here that some of us from Team Brosnan, (ok...me) absolutely loved the CR trailer despite my huge fears about it and DC.
I wish people would stop complaining that the bike jump looks like Bourne. If anything we should complain that it was already done in TND!!! And that Bond being on the run is like Bourne. OH WAIT! Anyone ever seen LTK!!! I don't really mind either way. But this Bourne vs. Bond stuff is SO OLD!
By the way I like Bourne. But I belive Bond is a much better character. He has more life to him. Bourne can be quite wooden, and whiney.
I loved that motorcycle bit ! People don't like it ?!
To be fair, I think that sort of shot/stunt combo, which is awesome in my opinion, was used in The Bourne Ultimatum, which came after Casino Royale. Whoever utilised it first it doesn't really matter, it's a great visual.
I liked the trailer, although it didn't give much away. Nothing really ! I'm surprised a trailer is out so soon as well. It's well over a hundred days until Bond is released. I remember the Indiana Jones 4 trailer didn't even come out that far in advance.
And Spielberg loves to be a Scrooge with trailers, he's very anti-spoiler with them, which makes me wonder what big surprises there might be in B22 ! Newbie by the way, don't garrotte me .
A more accurate comparison would be the teaser trailer for Casino Royale, which came out in May before a November release. So i think they are timing this perfectly. And while this trailer doesn't really give away anything big, it does it's job of whetting our appetites. And how does Spielburg play into this at all? Is anyone else as lost on that as I am?

Oh I was just pointing out that people were waiting twenty years for IJ4 and Spielberg still didn't give much away in the trailer ! Much like the producers have done with this one
I agree it is enticing, and I wonder if there will be another teaser trailer in the coming months.
I'm guessing yes, this one only tells us MI6 is likely rife with spies but nothing new beyond that about the new threat. The next one will maybe give us more about the bad guy/his organization?
Very Licence To Kill-esque (the rogue agent angle), only better in my view. This teaser does exactly what it should do: whets the appetite, without giving much away. Craig looks in good form, the girls are gorgeous (one quite Hepburn-like) and the whole enterprise looks very exciting indeed.
I have been very busy recently so most Quantum of Solace stuff has passed me by. In a sense this means I have not been subject to spoilers, with the result that I am enjoying this teaser more than I would have done otherwise!
1) Mr White's sinister description of the organisation Bond is up against.
2) Craig looks like a leading man this time, quite suave.
3) Nice cinemtography, a colourful palette.
What I didn't like:
1) Everyone talks like they're in a trailer. Which they are, but how will it seem natural in the movie? Esp M's overwordy, unnatural dialogue, the equivalent of 'You've got your armour up...' And unpromising, not-very-funny jokes: 'We don't have much time, then...'
2) It's Bourne, or LTK. Which is all very well but it's not an original theme, nothing new there.
3) Craig's Bond in a dogfight? A bit too early for that isn't it? We shall see, but let's hope he's not too proficient.
4) Some Brosnanism like the above, eg when he falls on the floor and shoots upwards, that's Brozzer from TND. All a bit familiar.
5) Not sure I actually like Craig's Bond as a bloke, still not that charismatic. He's a real person but he seems a bit sneery to me.
6) The looks continues on from CR, all bright sunlight. Which fans will love as it means watching CR and QoS will be a great back-to-back experience. But visually it seems a bit similar, unlike the original Connery trilogy or any of them in the 1960s.
I really like some elements of the trailer and Daniel does his usual thing of oscilating between looking superb and bang on the money, to just plain wrong ('dont worry about me' piece)I am concerned re yet another renegade Bond revenge movie. All that 'find Bond/stop his passport' stuff leaves me a little cold. For the next movie I would really like a new set up and a PTS that was disconnected from the main narrative.
I'm a bit vague about the plot of this film because I haven't been following it that closely but I did see the teaser yesterday. A bit generic for my tastes overall. Very Bourne/Transporter and DC still doesn't look like Bond to me even in the distance. Daniel Craig with a gigantic machine gun isn't really my own personal image of 007. Granted there isn't much to go on yet so I'll wait for a full trailer before I jump out of the window. If the film is shorter with more action than CR that's fine by me but I do miss the old traditional Bond. I do like the title though despite the confusion it seems to have caused. QOS has been floating around for a while as a possibility so I'm used to it I suppose.
"How long have I got?" "Thirty seconds." "Well, that doesn't give us a lot of time."
At first I thought that line was pretty pathetic, and seemed like something written for a trailer, as someone just mentioned. But the more I think about it, maybe Felix is explaining to Bond how long of a window he'll have to steal something, or infiltrate some place.
I think that makes more sense in context, and it gets me excited for a Mission: Impossible-esque rogue mission, where Bond and Felix have to collaborate and plan everything themselves.

Puts nitpickers hat on... {:) It's not just that, it's the feeling that it doesn't make sense quite in a nagging way, so typical of so much recent dialogue: how long have I got/ it doesn't give us much time... eh?
I dont know about the rest of you, but for the first 40 or so seconds of the film, I began to get this feeling that M isnt all she seems to be. When Mr. White said "we have people everywhere" it cut from a shot of M. In addition, the following shot of bond in an elevator brings back memories of M's elevator, and so I thought that perhaps M might be working for them, and that when she sends men after Bond, she is trying to take him out. Farfetched perhaps, but interesting nonetheless, I wouldnt mind them having a reason to replace her either.
As much as I like Judi Dench, I really like your idea. It kind of mixes things up
To be fair to Monique, I remember her always being very upfront about liking Craig in CR a lot.

All in all, I guess I understand why some would give the CR teaser the nod over this one---at least in the sense that, with a new Bond, the reboot, etc., perhaps the anticipation was a bit heightened compared to this one.
But that isn't the case with me. I might be more excited about this one! :007)
One thing that may make the CR teaser a little more accessible is that the story was known in a general way from the book. We could look the trailer and have a pretty good idea of where the material was coming from. It's a lot more difficult here. We don't really know what's going on. I'd wait and see. The fact that I have no idea what the story is feels exciting to me.

I caved !!!!! I was trying to hold out until I could see the trailer on the big screen. But as I am taking the wife and kid to see Wall E this weekend and may not find the "Daddy Time" to see a more Bond Trailer Friendly Movie,( Hancock, right?) I just couldn't stand it any longer !!! My id took over and my cinema purest values were chucked out the window. ;% I watched it on this thread. I think it looks absolutely great, I mean GREAT, and can not wait !! I'm gonna watch the trailer again right now. {[]

All this overanalyzing of the trailer is setting up some people for dissappointment. This is a Bond film so there is alway always going to be "familiar" elements. We should really just be applauding the fact that we've got an edgier Bond for this generation. As for the Bourne movies -ok the Bond franchise may have taken a couple of tips from them to make the New 007 movies upto date -but that isn't a bad thing -also they wouldn't have known how to produce a decent Bourne movie if it wasn't for the original Bond movies in the first place. Then all this rogue agent stuff -get over it -put it into context -The woman he loved has died because of the organisation -Bond wants closure and revenge -quite a normal reaction really. I mean how many of us take our private lives into work sometimes -knowing that really we shouldn't. Bond is human -and flawed like the rest of us. What happens to him makes him live the way he does. Cause and affect. This movie will have spectacle and excitement complete with drama. I for one feel that this is the Bond we should all want. Once again I say roll on November.

I saw the teaser trailer today in a movie theatre on a large 'scope width screen. No comparison to what I've been looking at on my pc. The only way to really appreciate the trailer is to see it on a big screen in a theatre. There are so many details that are completely lost on a pc. The shots of Craig coming over the desert with the machine gun takes on a completely different feel and scope...almost like a scene out of Lawrence of Arabia. You have to see it for yourself to fully appreciate it. "Hancock" by the way, wasn't bad...but the QOS trailer was almost worth the price of admission:)
Absolutely! As goes the devoted Bond fan, so goes Bond himself...
