I just got the Easton Press Spring 2008 catalog in the mail and I am happy to say that they are offering the complete James Bond series of books by Ian Fleming. I just missed out on these the last time they were offered. I definitely plan on placing my order soon. The books are leather bound with frontispiece repoductions of the original jacket designs. These are absolutely beautiful books.

A handsome set indeed.

Easton Presses books are handsomely leather bound and not "special runs" while the "First Edition Library" books were a special run, exactly duplicating the original Fleming first editions.
Both are wonderful. I have the First Edition set, sadly still wrapped in cello and never read. They are the most prized items in my Bond collection.
I would love to have the Easton Press editions to read ....... I still using a 1960's set of Signet Paperbacks, they are a bit dogeared and yellow.

I'm not going to invest in the new Easton Press leather-bound editions, because, frankly, I doubt they'd top this dust jacket replica set, and for me there's also the issue of expense.
I ordered my First Edition replicas through a company called the Danberry Mint about ten years ago - they sent me two books every month till I'd collected the 14 - and indeed, for a while, they plagued me with junk mail to buy all sorts of other expensive tat.
It's a shame the series didn't include similar replicas of 'Thrilling Cities', 'The Diamond Smugglers' and 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang'.
I decided to read my copies rather than simply leave them sealed, and I took great pleasure in this simulated re-living of the original Jonathan Cape experience. (Although my first reading of Fleming as a boy was mostly with Pan paperbacks, I first read FRWL, OHMSS and YOLT in Cape editions. Those early Cape reading experiences are the ones about which I am most nostalgiac, so the First Edition replicas serve me well.)

I just got a FEL - FOR YOUR EYES ONLY and you better believe I'll be reading that puppy. I also got a Easten Press leather of MOONRAKER and am working on a deal with the guy to get the other 5 he has in that set. I want the FEL set most but they are so dang much more than the leather ones. No way it's real leather, has to be leatherette.

It would look something like the one here but made to fit exactly to the 14 leather bound books.
