It's interesting that the press release doesn't say anything like "similar to the one bond wears in the upcoming movie".
Though I finally just bought the blue-faced one, I have to admit I like the smooth black face with just a little pop of red, but not enough to buy it with a 007 logo (which I like much better in that it is so much more subtle than previous 007 editions with the gunbarrel face).

Does anyone own the 300 M Seamaster, 2220.80? How do you like it?
Is the automatic better or worse than the quartz?
Thanks
I own it in a midsize. I don't have the quartz version, but I wouldn't trade mine for any other. I've had quartz watches in the past, and I don't know much about escapements, but this one keeps great time.
Automatic is more valuable and difficult to make. Quartz is more accurate. I have the 2531.80 which is excellent.
Same here. Keeping COSC time for six years now. I'm thinking about sending it to Bern for at least a check-up, if not an overhaul. My bracelet needs refinishing, and it could use a new inlay on the bezel.
It has seen moderate use as an everyday watch not in a business environment, so it has some wear.
I just got the 2220.80 for my birthday a week ago and i have to say i love it, im def saving up for another omega, maybe the black face, maybe the planet ocean im not sure. How do they refinish the band? Ive already got a couple of scuffs on it and im very sad about it. I figured i would just buy a new band for it when i bring my in for service in 5 years.
Away at Boot Camp, won't be back until April the earliest.
Every watchmaker should be able to bring the matt finish back to a metal bracelet.
If you don't have the time, just use a swamp, that you are using to clean pans with and take the hard side of it. Use it only in one direction, which is the direction, which is done in the factory.
If you are uncertain, drop me an email and I will provide you with the right "tool".
