I just talked to my Oliver Peoples contact and they are planning to introduce the limited edition James Bond Oliver Peoples Airman at a show next week. She asked me if I wanted to pre-order a pair, I did.
The price hasn't been set yet, but they are silver with Midnight Polarized VFX lenses.

Time for a trip to the optician.
Clarky, when you have the chance, give us a price and availability on these. Plus how to order a pair.
Are these the screen correct combination of lenses and frames?
Thanks
Summer's gonna be over by then X-(
True, maybe I can wear them to the premiere if the streetlights are bright enough
I agree with you Mantis... After I hesitated and didn't take the plunge to get another polo shirt at 50%, I had to pre-order this one before it gets sold out...
I have a pair of Aeros that I really love, they are very similar to the Airman. I'll tell you they are worth the money. I like my OPs better than the Persols for day to day wear. They just stay on your face better than Persols. I hate when sunglasses slide down my nose. The 2244s are way better than the Special Edition ones, but my OPs are like Oakleys in their face gripping.
She told me they were. As we all know, things aren't always as they appear on screen. The ones in the pictures show black ear pieces, but my Aeros have grey and clear ear pieces. I wish I could guarantee it, but I can't. I haven't even seen a picture of the ones I ordered. All I know is they are as I described above.
The cool thing about the VFX lenses are they get darker or lighter with the brightness of the lights. They aren't bad indoors, if you want to look cool in the mall or buying groceries.
I will surely do that.
I am writing to you as you have pre-ordered the Oliver peoples Airman.
I have the latest info on them: they will be available in October now, and will be available in two lens versions: graduated photochromic (£223.00) and polarised (£255.00). Oliver Peoples are only making 150 of each for the whole world(!?)
Until we see the film we cannot be certain which lens colour is worn. I know that the production company was given both versions, so he may wear both.
We have ordered a lot of them and we will be happy to give people the choice of lens type when they become available.
There is no special limited edition '007 engraved' version. They will be exactly the same as they were originally. It's true that they're limited but they're not specially branded.
I shall keep you updated as and when I have new information.
All the very best.
My first post. Thought I would share the news.
Unfortunately you cannot obtain 00 status until you have at least 2 ............. posts!!

What adam simmonds said in their email about no specific QOS branding would make sense as i bought the oliver peoples sunglasses from the mr and mrs smith movie...these were limited edition from the film but had no markings.maybe oliver peoples are just not bothered about endorsments from film.
Same reason I'll be giving these a miss
They didn't say any to me about a gradient pair, just the Silver and Midnight combo. It makes me wonder why.

I have the Oliver Peoples "Victory" frame and they are easily the best sunglasses I've ever owned. Take care of them and they are well worth the money - you guys won't be disappointed!
Besides...I suppose I can always have my optician put in grey lenses for me if I want them to look closer to the QOS pair.
Cheers!
