Shoulder Gun hoster

Hi All,

This is slightly trivial. Just wondering do we see James Bond in any of the movies wear a gun hoster (shoulder)?

If so which one/s?

I might be mistaken, but I thought in TND (in the Hotel room) we see him wearing a gun holster. Not sure of the brand though.

Bond's holster is usually a custom job, knocked out by the film company. It is supposed to be reminiscent of the "Chamois" shoulder holster in Fleming's novels. As best I recall in the later films Bond uses at least two brand name holsters a Galco Falcon in LALD and a Galco Executive in TND. I really haven't studied the Moore and Brosnan holsters, so someone else will have to fill in the gaps there.

Our Donald Grant makes a wonderful reproduction of the early Connery holsters, totally screen accurate.

The Berns-Martin holster appeared only in the books.

He wore a custom job in all films running up to Licence to Kill in which he wore the Galco Falcon. In Goldeneye and TND he wore the Galco Executive, this was replaced in TWINE and DAD by a custom horizontal shoulder holster for his P99. In CR he wears the Vega IWB, the first time a non shoulder holster has been worn.

Interesting that this has become a topic on the make and brand of holsters Bond wears when all the person is asking is if we ever SEE Bond wearing a holster in the films. :))

Anyway, of course we see Bond wearing his holster. One of the most famous instances is in the PTS of Goldfinger, when the girl in the bath bumps against his holster and asks, "Why do you always wear that thing?"

"I have a slight inferiority complex," he explains, and then takes it off.

There are other examples--such as the holster Bond openly wears during the rescue of Solitaire in LALD--but I have other things to take care of right now. . .

Plus Dr No, FRWL, they both have classic holster scenes, TND also has a great one. DAD is let down by the stupidness of the whole film.

Thankyou H, for pointing out our sad devotion to branding :D

But in our defence, fluffybunnybloke does ask which ones, to which my twisted focussed mind reads, 'which models'.

Thanks so much guys, espcially on the brands as well. Its just that in CR I didn't see any visible hosters which lead me to think that maybe he just puts his P99 in his pocket...I probably need to watch it again

It's too heavy for that in a suit coat. It would pull the coat down on that side.

not sure as to which brand 007 uses but I carry my P99 in a Fubos band waist band holster. Weather in cargo pants or suit for court it rides well and conceled. I then have a Deisanti inside waist band holster for the summer time. Not sure about the silencer but I have been asked if I was carying mine to which I say Always.
