Ik I see where you are coming from and I understand fully.

I know some collectors such as yourself Mantis who specialise in every bond prop in the Bond universe. I can understand why you would go for the high end item over a lower costing replica. ANd I appreciate that

For me replicas such as the ones above are fantastic for my displays as thats all i value them as display articles. I myself do not specialise in every aspect of the Bond props. And AS YOU KNOW I MAKE MANY OF THE PROPS MYSELF....

But when it comes to buying a replica such as the algerian love knot or spectre ring...

I always think about my options , do I buy the £200 replica prop or buy the £50 replica which will look pretty much the same as the more expensive prop in my display case and that also leaves me with more cash to spend on something else like a real thunderball spear gun or a silenced PPK.

I can see both points of view, gentlemen -{

I'd love to own the original pieces, or official props (I do what I can), but sometimes the price can be too expensive for me. These look like a decent alternative, especially for the money.

They would look OK on display and ideal for SGG's needs, but Id be scared that they would turn my cuffs black.

Yes, not very accurate props but affordable, it all depends what you want, i have several Spectre Rings and the most expensive one is the Sd studio Spectre Ring, for it's rarity , pedigree, but the best one i have comes from
Megatron here from the forum, not to pricey and not so cheap either but it's a beautiful ring and to my opinion the best one out there.

I wouldn't think of wearing them for a minute - I'm more interested in the SPECTRE ring than the cufflinks.

I've had a couple of pairs of cufflinks custom made, so I'm fine it that department - the golden guns were bloody expensive X-( but so, so worth it

Anybody who is thinking about getting the Casino Royale Dupont copies in the first picture - DON'T BOTHER.

In short they are cheap (obviously) and very innacurate in shape and finish. I would'nt even bother displaying these. Truly awful, even at $15 |)

And they won't turn your cuffs black, they'll turn them green - copper base metal. Wear them a week and you'll need new shirts.

I got really nice replicas same style from Tie rack... there pretty good I think there on my site cat go wrong at £7

Its 007's wardrobe that is giving me a headache! Short of forking out £500 for a tailred suit, I can't find anywhwere that does a decent replica of Craig's dinner suit from Casino Royale.

The cuff links are classy, but I actually find the design of them offputting - to me they look like the lids of a coffin!

Ditto Sir Miles, I wouldn't even think of wearing these cufflinks either but as display pieces they and the love knot could fullfill a need. That SPECTRE ring is a different situation though, at that price I could easily see myself slipping into one of them.

Nice collection -{ And I can certainly see the quality in the SD studios items.

On an aside, when I was looking through the list I realised I have that same Polaroid camera...well, the color on mine is a little darker grey but when you open it up and view the front it looks exactly the same. So I think some minor color change is called for and I can have myself one of those fancy X-ray cameras....:007)

and though S.D Studios did make some beautiful items not all were accurate, lets take the Spectre Ring for example, this particular ring came in a very rare and cool display box with plaque, but the ring itself is far from accurate, Megatron from AJB makes a beautiful Spectre Ring and in my opinion the best one out there, i haven't loaded the picture of the ring on my link, but i will soon. if you want to see a picture of the Megatron Spectre ring contact me at LMVGC@bellsouth.net and i will send you pictures of the ring.

Yes gone but not forgotten, i was told on the early days of S.D Studios the form of advertisement was thru james Bond magazines, i do recall i saw an advertising of the three main props on the Chicago Sun times back in 1996, and there was also a website.

I just received the TWINE cufflinks made by Customade and they are just crap... Only if you put them in display with a glass they look nice.
I am afraid with this poor quality of replicas the shirts sleeves might get black. Definetly not recommended for any Bond fan..

also As you stated look good in a display case... thats all I buy them for .... so I am happy with them ...

there spectre ring is of a high quality... very cool... and I would rate there other items which I have bought pretty good...

Also a friend of mines bought the casino royale cuff liins and has worn them with a great shirt to quibles and it didnt turn his cuffs black... he loves them...
