What ya' think of the PULP style P/Backs?

With my recent interest in all things Fleming I have started to look around some of the local bookstores and came across some recently published paper backs of Flemings work...and I must say I liked the look of them. These are the larger format p/b's, published by Penguin around 2002 I think, and have a great "pulp style" artwork on the covers.
I couldn't resist and picked up the two titles (Thunderball and For Your Eyes Only) that were in stock so I think I'll start looking for these and try to get the whole set. They certainly have a nice style about them and I do prefer the larger format compared to the normal, smaller paper back size.
Anyone else collecting these, or got them already?

I have found out that the pulp style covers were first used on the Penguin USA releases, these seem to be larger format books and look about the same size as a hardback, and that Penguin UK later used the same artwork on their published Fleming "BOND" titles.
You are sooo right about the current covers from Penguin though, and with this I assume you mean the plain silver ones that are out now, they are VERY non-descript and boring. 8-)

I really wanted this set of covers for a long time and managed to bag a couple of sets towards the end of last year - there is a great collection of these in a lovely looking box set. You could pick this set up for around the £15 mark.
It looks as if you still can:

Yes, that's the boring cover art....certainly wouldn't attract me to buy a copy. 8-)
Thanks Sir Miles and Mark hazard for the links. {[]
This book set looks great and is very nicely presented and must be the same one that the friendly lady at one of the book shops I walked into mentioned, it is going to Aust $ 75.00 for that one if they order it for me. Hmmm, I think I may have to get one as a late birthday present for myself.
Does anyone know if the US editions were available in the same sort of boxset? I've only ever seen these as individual copys.
No problem, Mark Hazard did all the hard work in providing the link. I managed to get them through the 'Books For Schools' scheme.
They are a lovely set to own.

as they often have offers for Bond books, and you don't have to buy a certain number of books per year.
They also did the '12 audiobooks in a tin' very cheap too.
