QoS Holster?

Any idea what type of IWB he'll be carrying the PPK in? Can anyone recommend a good IWB for the PPK?

Try Ken Nulls UNS and Matt Del Fatti's ISP-WR. Both top of the range excellent holsters.

Thank you. I have a Galco Executive but I think an IWB would be a bit more practical!

    Oh yeah, sorry Josh.

There is of course Bulman Gunleather. Absolutely on a level above others. Makes 'em for the Asp too.

In the Fleming novels he has a shoulder holster and IWB. In Gardners novels he also uses a shoulder holster, but mainly a belt holster on his right hip. Bensons Bond uses a shoulder holster for the PPK and an IWB Del Fatti holster for the P99, which is cool as Matt is a good friend.

You ever tried running with an ankle holster. Not fun.

It's not the danger of being shot by your own weapon, it's the weight, and the concealability issue if your pants aren't cut correctly.

Also the annoying rubbing on the end of your tibia.

I've never yet seen an ankle holster that worked well for anyone that is even slightly active. If you sit at a desk all day, it might be different. And then you have a problem with accessability.

I have seen a type that has a support around the upper calf below the knee with the holster suspended below with further attachments at the ankle, but I don't think I'd wear it.

Those types are worthless. The gun is so high on the leg you would be dead by the time you got to the gun.

Even though it is not mentioned in Gardner's novels, all of the holsters and pouches are from Lou Alessi. He made a lot of stuff for Gardner and they all had a "007" stamped on them for him.

If you would like, you can order the same holsters from Lou, and if you ask nicely, he will use the stamp on your holster. He does not have a website but you can contact his shop at 1-716-691-5615

I grew up about a mile from Alessi's shop. Back in the late 70's I purchased a holster from him for my S&W Model 36. It was very good quality, as I recall. Since then, Alessi has been involved in numerous federal contracts and I'm not even sure if he sells to individuals. The last time I was there, he had his shop in the back of the bldg and you were not permiited beyond the foyer (which gave no indication on what was being done behind the ineer door). All types of "Restricted Area" signs quoted federal regulations were posted on the inner door. However, it probably would be worth a phone call to see if he is doing any work for individuals.

Yes, he sells to individuals. You can't go past the foyer for several reasons. One is that he does Govt contracts and visitors are not permitted, two is for insurance reasons.

My thought is that an ankle holster would be cool, bond could have a small revolver or the PPS their. Then he could have the P99 in a IWB.

The other thing about the ankle holster is that it is not tactically sound method of carry. The best place for a gun is on the hip if you intend to go into harms way. Just like a cowboy. The ankle holster should be reserved for weekend wear when you don't want to wear a jacket or want your shirt tucked in. Don't let me get started on shooting stances.
