The 'Tomorrow Never Dies' Carcoat

some photos of my new JB carcoat from the opening teaser from 'Tomorrow Never Dies'

This is actually the second coat. Because of a communication problem and Gemma on vacation at the time of my order, the wrong size was sent. The first coat I could have used as an outdoor shelter.

This is the second coat and the fit is much better. The construction of this coat is first-rate. Stitching is precise and even and the overall craftsmanship is second to none.

The material is dark brown horsehide with a beautiful satin matching liner. One inside pocket and two outside patch pockets with two upper slash pockets.

My only beef is that the belt should be about 1cm wider. Small stuff and not that important. Other than that, it is true to the original made by Angels & Bermans for the movie.

This coat is made in the UK by Wested Leather, who incidentally was the creator and manufacturer for the Indiana Jones movie jackets as well as other movie apparel.

That looks great...does the horsehide give it an almost "OILY" look like the one in the movie?

Very similar. You can see some of the shine on it in a few of the photos of the sleeve and lower part of the coat. They got the color spot on.

This coat is built like a tank.

Oh, that I could claim the credit. I did no detective work to find this coat. I stumbled upon it during a surf to one of our own member's sites...Bond Lifestyle.

It was there I discovered that Wested made this reproduction. Angels and Bermans have absolutely no information about this coat on their site and e-mails about the coat from me went unanswered.

I don't suppose they like dealing with the general public if you're not in the film industry.

I'm quite satisfied with Wested's coat. It couldn't get any closer than this unless you bought the original screen-worn coat.

I'm afaid I don't have any info on any other leather worn in the movies. The TND coat has always caught my eye every time I see the movie.

If you do not know history, you are doomed to repeat it.

Apparently, many in Washington are not up on their history.

The rise of National Socialism in pre-war Germany fascinates me. It is a good lesson that all of us should take note of.

How one uneducated man could take control of all of Germany and most of Europe in ten years is amazing. There is a lot of history on those two shelves...not counting the two "Idiot's Guides"

    :D

yea u really do look like him ..

yea I agreee the rize of the nazi's does interest me very much. it is and was an amazing feet what they did.

I do see similarities now adays in certain groups of religions and organisations.. but only the later years towards the end of the nazis do I see in these groups....

If I got into it and started giving my opinion on them and how I would deal with it I would be here till christmas.

Soooo, maybe we take all this Nazi talk and filter it back to what a beautiful coat that is....shall we? :o

And it is a wonderful coat...I purchased Wested's first replica of the coat MANY MANY years ago in a oiled suede and then a year later in a cow hide...but the horse hide is the correct skin to use...damn tempting to get the right one after all these years but I would want them to make the belt thicker!~

Thanks for the kind remarks about my coat.

I did get to wear it for four days while we went through another cool spell, but I think it will be going into the suit bag pretty shortly as it's warming up here now.

    Looking forward to October already.
