Lotus Exprit from TSWLM

Hey all, just curious if the Lotus is on display anywhere, either the regular car or the model used for the underwater scenes, i'm hoping to make a 3d model of both versions, i'd love to be able to see it up close one day. Also on a side note, I'm an automotive designer by trade, and thought it would be cool to do a new concept for the lotus esprit and make a new TSWLM poster with Craig for fun, anybody interested in seeing some of the sketches so far?

The actual Lotus Esprit submarine is now on display in a special James Bond Experience in The National Motor Museum at Beaulieu (click for the special exhibition website).

Realize this is an older thread but just now finding it.

From the links, you know that Lotus provided two complete Esprits and five additional shells. The "submarine" at Beaulieu is really one of the bodies which the IFF fully restored. It was actually used just for insert shots of certain functions (it seems a bit counter-intuitive -- the car being underwater and all -- but there was some concern that the charges required to fire the missiles and harpoons could ignite fuel leaking from the functioning submersible so the working "car" could not be used for those scenes).

The car I've always regarded as the "true" submarine toured the US for the premiere of film and ultimately remained stateside, having originally been "converted" by Perry Submarines of Florida.

The "car" eventually wound-up in private hands here who listed it at least once on eBay (click here or the image below to see how it appeared at the time) but never sold to my knowledge; I imagine it's tucked-away in a warehouse somewhere, it's value as a boat show or carnival attraction long past.
