For my senior prom i plan to look as close as possible to Craig in CR and was wondering if anyone can give me the specs of his tux and shirt.

Tux is a one button, peak lapel Brioni.

Shirt is a hidden placket Turnbull and Asser which you can actually buy (do they still offer them?). I think they cost $450 for shirt plus bow tie.

They were selling them half price recently, but I was in the Jermyn St store yesterday and they are all sold out. No ties either.

They told me in the London store two weeks ago that their license to sell the Bond shirt ran out in February, so that's probably why they got rid of the last ones so fast with that huge discount.

I just called the New York store and they have very few left. They are having a sale on selected items the first week of June for those who are interested. However, I was informed that the Casino Royale evening shirt will not be one of the sale items. Perhaps it is up to the individual stores to decide what inventory they want to discount.

On another note...when I called the NY store I also inquired as to the availability of the Casino Royale bow tie in a self tie version. Mine came with an adjustable red strap. I would much rather prefer the self tie in all black as that is the one that appeared in the film. I was told that they only make bow ties in the adjustable variety. I found this to be surprising. Perhaps I just spoke to the wrong person. I believe their website shows self tie bow ties so I'm a little confused. Anyone have anything to add?

The adjuster at the back is so one size fits all, otherwise they would have to make loads of different sizes. The screen used one has this too as do all T&A self tying bow ties. Nothing to worry about.

It looks fine when it is on. I've just kept mine "tied" and I unclip and clip the hook on the red adjuster to put it on and then snug it up by sliding the bar the appropriate length. I just thought a self tie would have been a little cooler. I freeze framed the CR movie several tiems and although I could not tell for sure, my guess was that the tie was a self tie. I didn't know why Bond would have undone the front of his tie if he was essentially wearing a clip-on (OK I know it's not technically a clip-on but you know what I mean). ?:)

Your not supposed to use the adjuster to take the tie off and on, just to adjust to the perfect length so that you don't have uneven ends every time you tie your tie. Once you've found the perfect length, you leave it at that. All modern self ties have this feature now to accomodate different neck sizes.

I guess that's just the way that they're made now. However I am curious what people do when they are wearing a fly collar as opposed to a fold down collar. The fold down will cover the strap but with the other shirt the strap would be exposed.
