I really wanted this phone, but it is not for use in the United States.
The k790a is the US model, and now the price has come down substantially (like anything else) since it was first introduced.
It was (is) used on the ATT and T-Mobile networks, but neither of these carriers offer this phone any longer. You can still buy them unlocked from cell-phone dealers, but there's no guarantee you can get them to work on your carrier even though they are CDMA/EDGE compatible.
Can't find one in silver either. They seem to all be the black model.
Herr Michael - I have an unlocked version of the k800i and it works fine on the T-Mobile network here in the states. What you can't do is use the phones high speed 3G, because the overseas version of 3G is not compatible with the US version. Otherwise, the phone works as advertised. Hope this helps.

I did more research and found that to be true. Unfortunately, T-Mobile has no service where I live.
I guess it will be awhile before I ever have this phone.
