    Good stuff there, Sc1.

The article has certainly wet my appetite to read Fleming's Thrilling Cities. If his eye for interesting detail shown in the books is anything to go by, I should imagine that Thrilling Cities is a very fine read.

I shall certainly read it if I get the chance - although the task of getting my hands (or even my eyes) on a copy in South Africa is a daunting prospect, where even the basic Fleming Bond novels are often hard to come by! :#

Excellent introduction to 'Thrilling Cities', SC1. I, too, must admit to not having read this book. This and 'The Diamond Smugglers' are two which I frequently spot at my local used bookshop, but have never purchased. I have often considered making the purchase (primarily to get my hands on the '007 in New York' portion). Thanks to your article, however, I know to check the edition to make sure that it includes the story!

I finished Thrilling Cities a couple of days ago and it was quite an experience. I really enjoyed reading Fleming's travel sketches and now I'm saving money for my little trip to Europe. {[]

I have read Thrilling Cities sc1 and I think you have done a nice job of introducing it to those who have not had the opportunity to get their hands on it. I very much look forward to the overall review. :)

Thanks for that, Jason - another fine article.

These articles have got me interested in acquiring these books, and having managed to acquire a copy of Fleming's other non-fiction work, The Diamonds Smugglers yesterday, I feel encouraged to try and find a copy. As someone who loves travelling, I find the thought of a travel book written by Ian Fleming a tantalising one. Better be on the lookout then!

Has an audio recording ever been produced for Thrilling Cities? I can't find any reference about this at all on the web. I first read the New York episode since Bond's appearance makes it practically required, then I read the Tokyo episode hoping for a quick read when I really needed one, but it seemed to go on and on!

It's different when you read a Fleming narrative that involves Bond. However, just as his writing is a treat, the novelty of reading Fleming just for Fleming can last only so much. Additionally, I feel that taking in this material in a conversational format would lend a different effect, especially if the reader is a talented with great vocal qualities to somewhat mimick Fleming.
