Why would she have a part. She isn't an actress. The only part she could pull of is a druggie.

She shouldn't get a part, well unless there is a remake of The Addams Family! :))

I'm no fan of her, and don't see why she has been approached.........infact why not just ask Pete Doherty to sing it, that way we've got 2 nice/decent enough people to ruin the franchise....8-)

Exactly, why the **** would she be offered any part ; no one asks why the local tramp who sleeps in the park and begs for a cup of coffee should have a part

She would have been a fantastic choice to do the QOS theme song. She has the talent and visibility to have had a huge hit along with an Oscar nomination with a Bond song. However, she is basically destroying her life with drugs and appears to be headed for a very tragic end at a very young age. A real shame and waste of talent and life.

Why shouldn't Amy W do the Bond theme!!! She is hugely talented with god given talent. Yes, she seems to be on a self destruct mission. However, we have no right to judge what she does or does not do with her life. As for a part in the movie, do me a favour, as far as I remember she isnt an actress and doesn't have aspirations to be one.

Why are people touting her for the song? She's done one or two Bondish songs and shes got talent - so what?

I think that they should work out what the movie is going to feel like, then work on a song and get an artist who will match the movie. They did that for Casino Royale, and that was a great song.

If they want to hire someone just because theyre having a bit of fame at the time, get Cheryl Crowe back. She did a song that in no way fit with the movie and was completely forgotten, but she does have talent.

What do you mean 'so what'? I think she is hugely talented, and obviously her song would match the film (as opposed to the overrated Madonna whose song didn't really match any film. :s)

I'm not a huge fan of You Know My Name, but I do think that the one good thing about YKMN is that it matched the film. I don't see why Whinehouse can't make a great song which will match the film, especially since IMO she's alot more talented than Chris Cornell.

However, to be honest, I don't expect the theme song for QOS to be a masterpiece, not if recent history is any indication. The last Bond theme song which I would describe as truly great was All Time High in 1983. (That said, most of the other theme songs released since, with a few exceptions, have IMO been at the minimum pretty good, just not as good as All Time High which IMO was among the greatest theme songs of all time. :D)

It comes with the territory." Death of a Salesman

Any role she could play. An odd person conveying secret information or any cameo.

How, DS, do you know she would fit the film as a singer? I think Adele would be a better choice but only if Hometown Glory like on the series Skins (YouTube it).

Its simple. There are thousand of talented singers out there of many different ages, ethnicities and genders - why do they have to go for a young female? Yeah shes got talent, that doesnt mean she should be the first they call.

I think one of the biggest problems with casting a bond movie (singer, main lead) is that alot of people look like they should be in a bond movie. But that doesnt mean that theyre right for the part thats up for grabs. Alot of people touted Angelina Jolie for Vesper, but lets be fair, she would have been entirely wrong for the role.

The problem I have with people touting Amy Whinehouse is that people are saying shed be a good Bond singer because shes talented and so forth. But that doesnt mean that shes going to do a song to match the final film. Even you think that YKMN was a great song for the movie despite the fact that you dont like the song. I really think that the next song should try and match the movie rather than hire a popular artist of the day.

Additionally does Amy winehouse even sound like she sings Bond songs? Maybe from the Connery or Brosnan era, but that doesnt mean that the Craig era is musically the same as those time frames
