British Airways reputation as the worlds favourite airline has been dealt another blow this time from the worlds favourite secret agent
The troubled airline has been reeling from the impact of the disastrous opening of Terminal 5 and the loss of thousands of pieces of luggage
The result has been a £62 million loss for BA for the first three months of the year so far
Now the airline has been snubbed by no less than secret agent 007 himself
The forthcoming Bond movie Quantum of Solace sees Daniel Craig boarding a plane but instead of hopping onboard the UKs flagship carrier he opts for Virgin Atlantic
Its a real coup for the airline with its name being splashed across the silver screen but not its first dalliance with the world of Bond
Virgin boss Richard Branson, managed to land himself a cameo role in the last 007 flick Casino Royale
He was filmed being frisked at Miami airports check in while a few Virgin Atlantic planes appeared on screen shortly afterwards
At the time BA was so miffed that the offending scenes were edited out when the spy film was shown as part of their in flight entertainment programme
But the Virgin Atlantic scene in the new film is so critical to the plot that a similar edit job will be impossible
Result? Looks like Virgin will be the choice of airline for travellers looking for a Quantum of Solace in flight while BA drops it like a hot potato.
